Quoting: ertuquequeI was hesitant to comment here saying that I'm not a fan of the art style, but reading the other comments, I see that it actually is a realatively common opinion. I mean, I'll definitely play it and I'm sure is going to be a good game, but yeah, the art style (and animation) is definitely not... popular.Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Not a fan of the look, but not to the point that I’d spurn a Monkey Island game for it after putting up with the bad 3D and the aggravating navigation of previous entries in the series and ultimately enjoying all of them. I can relate with the hesitation regarding revisiting prior locations and characters, but I think it can certainly be done right, especially since the description makes it sound like they’ll be used to show how things have changed, and not rehash previous adventures.

It scratched my Souls-like itch when I finally tried Dark Souls III and couldn’t stand the action queuing. I wasn’t a fan of the oppressive atmosphere, though. Metal and artificial lights everywhere get old quickly for me. Also the game didn’t explain much so there was much time spent on wikis, but that also seems to be standard for Souls.
Owlboy gets a nice upgrade, should now work great on the Steam Deck

Oh neat, I was afraid they wouldn’t fix it up. This would be my number 1 game to play on Deck if I end up buying one eventually.

I really like Iris and the Giant. The lack of explanations for things can be frustrating, but if you include "figuring out how exactly everything works" as part of the rogue-like experience, there are a lot of specific interactions between cards and enemy types and hidden areas to discover as you play. Probably worth checking out a Steam guide before you start or after your first run, though.

Curse was my first foray into Monkey Island, so if they do it with a 2D painterly style like the teaser suggests, that suits me fine. Either way, probably an instant purchase!
In addition to Dominic Armato returning as Guybrush, I’m happy to see Michael Land doing the music again. I’ve been listening to MI3’s soundtrack a lot lately. So comfy.

Quoting: STiATAnd Valve stops paying ukraine devs. Shame on you Gabe. Are we back to jumping to conclusions already? It’s an issue with their bank, they are working to resolve it, and developers can request payment to bank accounts situated outside Russia/Belarus/Ukraine in the meantime.

Quoting: slaapliedjeHa, some are complaining about the minimum. I spent enough that they said they had to personally verify it... and I basically have probably 80-90% of the games already.Ha! Peasants, am I right? I paid so much they named an orphanage after me... and I don’t even play video games.

And since donating to charity is tax-deductible (where I live at least), I can essentially give more support for the same personal cost by using traditional channels rather than this kind of campaign, so I have no qualms considering this bundle as a product and personal purchase first and foremost. If my chief concern were to contribute to the cause as much as I can, I would look elsewhere.
So bottom line, I’m glad that companies are making this kind of bundle to entice people who wouldn’t straight up donate otherwise, but I agree that a $50 minimum is going to turn off a lot of folks right off the bat. Multiple tiers would have been nice.

Quoting: AnzaThere are other ways to donate, so being critical about Humble Bundle doesn't mean not donating at all. itch.io ended their bundle yesterday, but as always, charities accept also direct donations if you actually want to donate instead of essentially buying games (Humble Bundle being the party that is actually donating).This. I might have gotten the bundle if it had had a cheaper option and/or more games that actually interest me, but I’ve already made a direct donation to the Red Cross that was 100% matched by my government, so anything more I give to this kind of fundraiser will need to actually be appealing to me as a purchase. This one isn’t, for me, but of course it’s good that they are contributing in any way.

GOG suspends all sales in Russia and Belarus

Things are absolutely going to suck for the individual Russian, and we well know that they are not to blame for this, but this is something that they have to fix. We’re buying them time, but we can’t do much more. I certainly hope that the world will be there to help them rebuild their economy and democracy when the conflict has ended. They are victims too, though of a different kind.

Quoting: slapinI understand people behind sanctions but things do not work this way here. People will just consolidate and finally China will benefit from everything. That is because everyone here is in special kind of information bubble in which Putin is right and nation hero. So to avoid same thing happenning again there should be something which makes people see what is really going on. Thinking people already protesting but that is in vain because they have zero support. If most of the world stopping trade with Russia and providing support to Ukraine, companies pulling out of the country, Putin preventing Russians from leaving the country, etc. doesn’t make them realize that something is wrong with their country, I don’t know what will. All the sanctions play into that. We are pushing the Russian population on the brink so that they take things into their own hands, because a direct military intervention by other countries could trigger a nuclear war that would be way more catastrophic than anything Putin could do to Ukraine, if you look at the bigger picture.

Quoting: TrainDocI think you quoted the wrong post.Quoting: SalvatosCommonly known as the Osborne effect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_effectQuoting: pseudexI'm pretty sure if there is a deck V2 it will be backward compatible with the first one.Compatible with what exactly? As Liam pointed out, the software itself is already independent from the hardware and runs on virtually any PC.
Surprisingly they sold more top tier decks then they thought. So far valve still earns my trust in buying the most expensive one. Unbelievable how open they are with it and the partnership with ifixit is unbelievable good news.
That's what I would call a sustainable product!
