Oh boy oh boy, does Horizon: Zero Dawn run out of the box with this version? If anyone finds videos of it running on this version of Proton, I'd love to see :)

Quoting: bisbyxhttps://www.protondb.com/app/327030Works for me with this run command:
I had to use proton to gets Worms WMD to run. The native version was broken.

Quoting: kuhpunktKinda worried about the future honestly... so much fragmentation, everybody wants its own thing.Especially with all of them going for subscriptions. I’m not going to pay 20$ a month to five different services to play one game on each.

Nice! Not my kind of gameplay, but I love what they did with the theme.

I think I had to disable it for Shadow of the Tomb Raider or the game wouldn’t run, so it hasn’t seemed very helpful so far
Ultimately I have no idea what it does or why I would need it.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoImagine the next super AAA being six months timed SteamOS/Linux exclusive because, instead of taking the regular 30% cut, Valve takes the 10% of the game price only with that condition... 2 points less than Epic Store, by the way..That’s just a race to the bottom—who runs out of money first? Valve can afford to keep its current cut because they have the features the users want and the audience the publishers want.
Quoting: Whitewolfe80Hate to say i called it but i called it Aspyr have seemingly given up on linux that much i expected but to give up on mac as well there publisher arm must be doing well if it can let the porting side of business go.The Mac version is already at parity with the Windows updates as far as I know. Took them a few months, but they updated that port. So it’s not much to say that they don’t plan to update it again.

About damn time they said something. Can’t believe they had to be hounded for 18 months before finally giving closure. At this point I’d rather buy a Windows-only game that’s been shown to work on Proton than trust an Aspyr port, so good job on that PR.

Quoting: daishordThanks for following up! I felt the same as you about the demo, but I watched people play it a bit on Twitch and I was a little concerned about how many stations there were and all the production going on. I saw the sawmill minigame and, as you mentioned, I imagine it works much better on a gamepad than a keyboard. I guess this will be a close miss for me.Quoting: SalvatosHow much time do you reckon is spent doing crafting and gathering, versus exploring new locations and talking to NPCs? I’m more interested in the journey than the logistics, though it looks like it has a variety of minigames to make the crafting more engaging (and/or tedious in the long run?). Could you pretty much ignore much of the crafting to focus on other aspects, or do you need to build up the whole tech tree and keep stocking up to make everyone happy?I played the demo and liked what I see - the fishing mini game wasn't too bad and the ratio story to mini games was fine.
And now I'm a proud owner of the gog version and will probably never open it again after a few of hours playing. The mini games/resource gathering is imo too overwhelming and my first reaction seeing the sawmill minigame was "what the fuck? are you crazy?". Maybe it has better usability with a game pad instead of keyboard, but for me it wasn't a relaxing game with a nice story line but longish segments of stupid games intersected by way too short snippets of a heartwarming story.
I will keep it as nephew and niece may like it - but I will not touch it again even with the proverbial 10-foot pole. I hope they will add an option to skip the games, I still love the art style and story of the game.
(the above is my personal impression alone. Don't blame me if you have a different opinion : ))

Is there a demo anywhere? This isn’t normally my kind of game but I feel like giving this a try (preferably without a 2-hour constraint).
