I had no idea this project existed! I would love to play Icewind Dale 2 someday, I never got around to it before switching to Linux :)

Proton is a wonderful tool, but at the end of the day it’s still a crutch, and we need to learn to walk again sooner or later...

Quoting: Valckhttps://boilingsteam.com/ethan-lee-troubling-times-for-porters-in-a-proton-world/Good read, thanks for sharing. For me, native games and actual ports still take precedence in a major way. I have a few very tempting games that I might buy heavily discounted at some point, but for my "everyday shopping", I still don’t even look at anything that’s not actually supported on Linux.
Food for thought. Not that it hadn't been seen from the beginning...

How much time do you reckon is spent doing crafting and gathering, versus exploring new locations and talking to NPCs? I’m more interested in the journey than the logistics, though it looks like it has a variety of minigames to make the crafting more engaging (and/or tedious in the long run?). Could you pretty much ignore much of the crafting to focus on other aspects, or do you need to build up the whole tech tree and keep stocking up to make everyone happy?

Quoting: richipI'd like to contribute now even though the Linux version isn't guaranteed. I actually want to contribute more if a Linux version is a certainty. Is there a way to upgrade a pledge on Kickstarter once their Linux plans firm up?Not unless they announce it before the campaign ends, which seems highly unlikely. Or another option would be if they use a pledge manager afterwards, where you can usually upgrade your pledge or pick add-ons for a limited time. This is something you should ask them directly.

The Night of the Rabbit is also pretty sweet, although I remember it getting a little weird at the end (played it before I switched to Linux; according to ProtonDB it requires some tweaking).

Kickstarter allows campaign extensions now?
Interesting.
Quoting: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redmartyr/saint-kotar/posts/2892534In normal circumstances Kickstarter doesn't allow extensions, but the spread of COVID-19 has created uncertainty and stress for so many people, including developers and backers alike, that they decided to make exceptions. We believe the pandemic has played its part in slowing down this project.
Interesting.

Calling it now: after several weeks of fixing bugs and patching in response to player feedback, they’ll delay the ports again to "focus on making it the best experience for everyone first".
