Quoting: EikeI'm looking forward for this! Like the topic and the style, and the co-developer and publisher Application Systems Heidelberg did the same for Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet as well. (Just seeing it's for 50% at the moment.)Ah, I knew that name was familiar, thanks for that comment.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is also 50% off on Steam but the Linux build isn't out officially yet so I'm personally holding off on it. There's a beta branch though, and you can read about it in this thread.
Horizon Chase Turbo is a super smooth and fun retro-inspired racer, now out with Linux support

That said, I don't think I've seen any other game that does it, so I don't actually own any racing game at the moment.

Quoting: tuubiWhaaat? Am I really the only one who lost interest in the NFS series after they introduced police chases in the third installment?Police chases are about the only thing that can still make me interested in racing games for more than a few minutes, so vastly different experience here :)

That Discord notification sound in the trailer...
I'll keep the game in the back of my head, though.

That's a contractual limitation, not digital rights management, i.e. a practical impediment. Steam's TOS is just the same.

Quoting: ShmerlNot necessarily if you go by TOS alone, as you did with Steam (and since laws vary from country to country, that's all we can really do given the scope of this community). One example off the top of my head (emphasis mine):Quoting: SalvatosYou're not allowed to photocopy a paperback either
You are allowed, for your personal backup. It's called fair use.

Quoting: ShmerlYou're not allowed to photocopy a paperback either, that doesn't mean there's DRM in your stack of paper.Quoting: ScooptaI disagree simply because once you download a game from steam(assuming it doesn't use the steam DRM) nothing stops you from making a backup of it.
Did you even follow the discussion above? You aren't allowed to do it if you are using Steam.

I think they still call them "tongs" in France, but that never caught on where I live.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyThe kernel. Thongs for the kernel. Software is all about presentation these days. Lean programming, sexy code, the list goes on.Quoting: slaapliedjeSteamOS is better than Ubuntu, for a game console. There are thongs they tune for the kernel. It's not really about how they tune the thongs. The question is, who is wearing them?

I'm surprised they still need a whole year of Early Access, last year's demo was already looking quite solid on the tech side. Are they not working on it full time?

Quoting: BlackBloodRumDo we Linux users really want to be associated with geeks? :PGeeks are fashionable these days, so eh why not.
It'd turn into "Linux is an OS for geeks" which is more food for the Windows trolls. :D
