Skullgirls: Annie goes up in Beta along with the Season Pass and a Linux support update

I hear ya. This game is a mix of SP, Local MP and Online MP, so while I understand the nature of this it's part of the reason why I just can not trust buying games that go online in which I do not get a functional binary for my own safe keeping. I do play online but mostly with ppl I know IRL. I tried a few games last year with stranger but it was not good enough to keep me doing it.
Thankfully, I bought this when it was still selling the DRM-FREE binary on Humble Bundle which included all the DLC at the time so I have all of the characters up to Annie. I recently walked away from Steam also because other titles that I did give a chance from 2019 to 2020 updated and I no longer had access to the versions I liked.

Quoting: dvdI only play this game occasionally, but considering other online games this is par for the course. I don't like the langage of DLC's, but considering it's a fighting game if they are actually releasing 4-5 characters like years ago, it'd be worth calling it an expansion.
Even bigger games like CS:GO release weird paid content (operations) to get more money. And afaik you can just keep playing your version anyway if you don't consider the update worth the price, i still don't have Big Band etc. unlocked in mine. (but that's largely because i suck at these games and never play them online. This is one of those games i only bought because it released on linux)

I'm quoting a friend here but I'm not their demographic. I just want to buy a complete game and keep it moving.

Quoting: cybikHow else would you suggest they create the extra content? All the new frames, the new voice actor work, testing, hitbox setup, game balance testing, all of this good stuff takes time and people working on it.

Loved the game but Season pass stuff is rubbing everyone I know into this game the wrong way. I'm tapping out on it but I had a great time playing it over the years. Looks like I gonna have to stick to Fightcade, RetroArch and the DRMFREE version of Skullgirls for my fighting game kick.

Saving this for later. Taking a break from playing my older titles as I've been playing them since debut til 2020 but I'm saving all of these maps for when the wave a new games my family want to try comes to a halt. This looks excellent.

This is excellent. I no longer use Steam but I have a few family members on there. This can help us ditch Parsec and they can go on ahead and remove their Windows install if this works out.

That game is top tier excellence. I loved every minute of it and it's still on my HTPCs for some random 4 player action when my family is down.

Dead Cell - GOG
This game is a lot of fun. I don't consider it a Metroidvania, though. In most of those games you can revisit the places you once were and move into areas that were not accessible. In this game, you can not go back to those area unless you died (mind you I have not ended this game so if that is possible you can take this with a grain of salt). I find this game to be more rouge-like than any other rouge-like action platformer with the exception of Rouge Legacy which I ended just recently.
SHING! - GOG
This game is also a lot of fun but once my wife and I finish it, it will be uninstalled. The game uses the sticks to fight which is a fun and innovative way to bring life into brawlers but we prefer to play these type of games on out HTPC using our fight sticks which is not possible with this game. It's very well made, though with lots of angle and enemy types to keep brawler fans very happy.
Tonight We Riot - itch.io
Excellent side scroller with unit management as you grow mobs to take on the man. This is a great two player game with plenty to offer as a map expands and you take on more and more challenging foes as you bring the riot to the powers that be.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War - Stadia
On Saturday's I've been running the weekly events with my family online and it's been great. We also did some horde modes on brutal and got rocked by the regular zombies by the 9th round.
Destiny 2 - Stadia
Rumble - Falling in love with this mode. My friends and family have done all of the other content and so we've been here logging on and talking smack while enjoying the private room modes. I would love to have this or something like it available via of LAN when those open up again.

Stadia to see more than 100 games through 2021

This has been the case with me also. The 2 games I like playing on Steam kept on breaking and on top of the devs updated them and there is no way for me to play the other versions without pirating a copy and doing a lot of WINE work.
When the weekends hit and my family wants to play something online it's usually something browser based and Stadia has been great for that.

In short, is Stadia, GOG, itch.io taking me away from Steam? Well....yes, surprisingly.

Hellpoint is an EXCELLENT game. My wife and I love that game. We have the GOG version and it's still a great game to dive into with some co-op action. We not tried the PVP portion, yet.
