Terraria for Stadia cancelled, due to Google locking the developer out
8 February 2021 at 10:56 pm UTC

I moved from Gmail back in late 2014 but my job is deeply embedded in GSUITE. I open a gmail account strictly for Stadia and Hangouts/Meet to organize events with friends and family. We are have a good time so far with Stadia but a lot of this bad press is leading a bad taste. I still go a ton of free credits with Google Rewards so I'm just gonna ride the rest of this out but man they need to get their shit together.

Using the Epic Store on Linux is even easier with the latest Heroic Games Launcher updates

Is it possible for linux users to just get the game itself and play without the launchers?

Here's a few of the Linux games we're excited to see through 2021

Viscerafest and EX-Zodiac look right up my alley. So many FPS that came out recently have slow movement that I just can't play them. Ion Fury was a breath of fresh air. Then Dusk and then Strafe. Viscerafest looks like it's more my speed with the pace of movement. Ex-Zodiac reminds me of Omeganaut which is a great thing. One of the better games I enjoyed from the BLM bundle on itch.io. I hope these two games release DRM-FREE with Linux binaries for me to pick up.

This is interesting. If I can see it in action, I may replace my HTPCs with it.

Our top favourite Linux games released in 2020

Hellpoint and Streets of Rage 4 have the very few times in which I got a game sooner rather than later in which I was very surprised by the content and quality. Hellpoint is just an excellent experience all around. Got all three endings and unlocked everything and I still want to go back in and try different weapons and runs. SoR4 is a family smash. Everyone I know owns it and it's one of the games we all want to play with each other all the time.

Ubisoft+ begins rolling out on Stadia for players in the US

Quoting: BumadarSorry made you upset, it was a question, not an attack.
Wine, proton, dbox etc you run on your system, i see thwt as something diffrent then a streaming service, so that is why i asked, its cool that stadia uses linux, just like its cool the ps4 uses bsd, but it i dont see any of that comming downstream so i wondered if that was the reason. But if the reason is simply that the streaming works out of the box, cool.

As i said a question to understand the reason, nothing more.

Why would you assume I'm upset when I'm opening up the discourse? Proton is not Linux Native as was part of your original questions so how are they related to what you asked?

So far the non-Linux native games being made Linux native (down stream) in the last few years have been indie titles with the most recent and notable being Streets of Rage 4. Other bigger budget games are just not doing it at all or if they do, it will be toward end of life which has become rare. As more big budget games lean in on DRM they will be going to the cloud to secure their products. It's coming if it's not already here.

Quoting: BumadarI dont want to sound negative or anything, its a serious question :)

How come there is so much attention for stadia, i understand it runs on linux but its not really bringing (native) games to our beloved OS and i personally don't expect any of these aaa publisher to bring their now on stadia working games to linux. So from my point of view its another system like windows or ps4 or xbox.

As i said, its a serious question, maybe i am missing something :)

Buma.

So then don't cover WINE, Browser Based Games or any other game that you can play on Linux unless it's native? Why ask why? If you want to promote Linux native gaming, post in place like the forums or reddit or what not about your favorites to raise awareness about'em.

Stadia works on Linux. Uses Linux. You can game with it easily. Gaming On Linux seems fitting. There are sources for just Linux Native gaming, if that's exactly what you're looking for.

I've had a blast on Stadia but I still buy my DRM-FREE Linux native titles on GOG, Humble Bundle and itch.io first and foremost. The coverage of Stadia here has been great and has opened the door for more of my friends to not only game more but switch to Linux permanently for games like D2 that now runs without issue on Linux via Stadia.
