I don't play PUBG much but I tried a few times and I did it all via of KB + M.
Here are the controllers that I have working with Stadia:
* Steam Controller
* Logitech F310 (Wired)
* Hori RAP 4 KAI (Wired)
* MadCatz Fightpad (Wired)
I'm using Google Chrome Web Browser on Ubuntu Mate 18.04.

Quoting: GeoGalvanicI was going to try to play the ranked mode in PUBG but it seems it's only for controllers. A bit disappointing since I can't even seem to get my steam controller to work with Stadia.

Despite my hesitance Stadia has been great for my circle of friends. So far 5/14 of us are staying with Pro and 3/14 are enjoying MK11. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is just an awesome game to play with friends. Will check out Skyrim but it's been almost 20 years since I played an RPG let alone an MMORPG.
Stadia Pro will soon drop down to one free month

With the exception of MK11, I quit all of the games via of F11. There is also the Shift+Tab system similar to Steam.
I'm using a Free ISP in NYC that has the same speed and so far outside of 2 instances of lag when playing Zombie Army 4 during the final boss, it's been smooth sailing. I don't think anyone from my crew (all linux users) will be staying with Pro but they all have already bought some game from Stadia.
I'll be staying for MK11 as of right now it's unplayable for Steam. I got a free steam key for it but I won't activate til protondb reports get better.

Quoting: Duke TakeshiI just tested it just for fun and wow what a bad experience that was. I have a 200 Mbit/s connection and at the time no one except me was using the internet, so I had the full bandwidth at my disposal. I play games in 1080p and for me that's enough, but the game (PUBG) was still blurry very often, although when checking the stadia menu, it said that I have an excellent connection. I must say the video quality really disappointed me.
Also the whole thing is still pretty raw. For example, I simply wasn't able to quit PUBG. There was this menu where you could choose resume, settings etc. but there simply was no entry for "quit" so I ended up alt-tabbing out of chromium to quit it manually.
Then, once you've chosen one pro game to play, your stadia home screen is a wallpaper-sized picture of that game with a play button on it. No "pro library" to choose one of the other pro games. If you want to do that, you must go to the store and find the game in an alphabetically sorted list (as far as I've seen, there is not even a search function for the store).
I had considered stadia to become a PC alternative for me, since the monthly price is less than half of what would accumulate to get a new PC and upgrade it every now and then. But good thing I tried it first. For me the only reason to subscribe to pro for a Linux gamer would be if you're desperate to play games that are unplayable on Linux due to anticheat (and pay a hefty 120 bucks a year for that).
Otherwise I suggest you spend the money on something that's actually worth it. Like supporting GOL :)
As long as it's free though, it doesn't hurt to try I guess.

I don't know your setup but the game looks great prior to the ext install. The ext just adds some quality of life stuff and if you're having issues on your setup you can force to play in a format that is better.
I see it the same way I see Steam, which I'm new to also, I have to use 3rd party sites to get it to do exactly what I want it to do: ProtonDB for proper listings, SteamDB for accurate numbers of online players and SteamWiki for a list of DRM-FREE Steam games. Even with GOG I have to use MaGOG to see EXACTLY the types of games I wish to purchase.
I hear you on the pricing though and such.

Quoting: randylI didn't install any extensions. The Stadia page didn't reference any extension. So I would need to install a third party browser extension to make it work well and look good? While I really appreciate the suggestion to help make the experience good, it is ridiculous to me that I would need such an extension yet and another reason for me to not pay Google $10/mo.

I don't like the game per se but the game looked great and had zero lag input via of KB and Mouse for me. Did you try it with the Stadia+ ext by Mafrans?

Quoting: randylQuoting: drlambExcept it doesn't look like 1080p. It barely looks like 720. The native 1080p experience and PS4 Pro looks better than it does through Stadia. The performance is good. The appearance isn't that good to me, but isn't a deal breaker. The problems with mouse and keyboard input knocking me out of the game and back to the browser might be a big deal though.Quoting: randyl
Destiny 2 is always running at 1080P and is a bad example of the visual quality Stadia is capable of. 60FPS was definitely the priority there as it runs at ~medium settings.

I was able to use a gift card that has a few pennies on it. Then I later on cashed in some Google Pay/Play cards that I had from a local FGC event that I attended.

Quoting: SchattenspiegelAs long as they want the digits upfront they can keep their trial as far as I am concerned.

^ This. I've been enjoying the 2 months free. I also picked up MK11 and everything looks great.

4K is available via Chrome if you have a 4K display that's likely just outdated information. I can confirm I was one of the ones to get native 1440P in some games so that support is coming. The stadia+ extension still works for forcing 4K on non-4K displays.

Come tell us about what you've been gaming on Linux lately

Every Saturday night, I been playing this game with friends online. We are almost at the end together and are all rank 50+. It's an excellent game and it seems to be the one that is going to keep many of my friends on Stadia for some time to come.
With locals canceled, EVO 2020 taking place online and SG being one of the games features for open tournaments everyone that I know into this game is now online via of Steam and shooting invites left and right. They also recently updated the game. Been having fun playing this one with my kids. Those of them still living with me and my other kids with their own family living afar.
This game was on sale recently for $30 on Stadia and thanks to some of them help I got here from the forums and via of reddit I was able to get all of my Gpay cards that I had over the years activated even though some of them were long pass the expiration date. This game has been great. Loving the SP content and played a few matches with 2 of my friends that also picked it up. My wife is a big fan of the MK 1 to 3 with MK 2 being her personal favorite so she has been playing this one often with me.
Wine - Picked this up when it dropped on GOG and playing this one exclusively with my wife. My main is Tanya and hers is Scorpion. We have a little dry erase board with some tallies on who's the top. I'm getting rocked 34 to 6.
Wine - Unlocked everything in this game and the entire house is playing this one. We've even got some online matches working via of Parsec thanks to a Windows server at my job acting as host. I hope when the Linux native version drops there is a way to get it up and running using Steam Remote Play as a non-Steam game...if not Parsec is fine and lag free so far.
This game went free recently but I already had a copy from before and now all of my family is on it. We just started playing this together on Friday but we are setting up matches for tonight and Thursday night after work for everyone.

LOL This game is the same way in my house. One of my daughter is KING of this game around these parts and we best come with it or don't bother picking up that gamepad at all.
