Letting you know that today (18/10/2016) I spotted Dex for sale (75% off) on humblebundle.com.
One thing appealing (other than the great price) of this Humble deal - you get Steam key and DRM free version.

What have you been playing recently, and what do you think?

Hi,
Sharing my play list. Most of my games, I'm now playing at 4K (3840x2160) resolution on a 60Hz display-port 40 inch monitor. A recent upgrade from GTX 960 to GTX 1070 has allowed practically everything I play to run great at 4K.
FTL (Faster Than Light) - I'm regularly returning to this, playing a short session, save/quitting, returning to the same point in the game, and continuing. Trying to accomplish the various achievements to unlock all the ships. Really love this style of real-time strategy WITH pause (to send commands during the pause phase). Over 50 hours of play.
Serious Sam 3: BFE - Quite recently I completed the main campaign (under Hard setting). I've just started playing the DLC - Jewel of the Nile - on Serious setting. Love this style of 3D shooter. Will probably finish SS3 off, before moving onto other 3D shooters. 57 hours of play so far.
Dying Light: The Following - Really blown away by this game. I love the graphics, the parkour, the combat, the progression, the main story, the side quests, the crafting. I like going in for proper play AND going in just to mess around. Get quite a thrill out of how (during the main quest) it puts you into difficult situations. Find the zombie combat very realistic. Really liked working out for myself how to accomplish things, e.g. using skills and terrain to my advantage. I've completed the main campaign. Haven't started "The Following" DLC yet - but expecting to do that quite soon. About 120 hours play so far. Smitten :)
Rocket League - I don't usually play much Player(s) vs Player(s) games. Rocket League is somewhat of an exception to that rule. It plays really well. Thumbs up for detecting and assigning controls to my Xbox 360 gamepads connected to Debian Linux with zero tweaking from me. Split screen working nice. Game responds very well. Really fun game. Not quite what I usually play, but worth blowing an hour here and there. So far played about 10 hours.
Sky Force: Anniversary Edition - Really love this scrolling old-skool arcade shooter. Completed all the 9 levels (eventually). However, haven't completed them all on Insane setting (only the first few). Pretty good replay value. Once you complete a level on "Regular setting" and by complete, I mean you have to play it perfectly (zero hits on you, kill all enemies, etc) then you get the next setting ( "Hard" ) and you have harder baddies to face. Do it on "Hard" and then you unlock "Insane". If you like Arcade Shooters then this is a must-have! Game-play is perfect. I've put 33 hours into it so far.
Fortix 2 - a casual strategy game. Good fun. Played a few hours so far. Based on Qix old skool game but with numerous little additions, e.g. terrain, items, etc.
I could go on ;) But at least you've got my main candidates. Maybe I'll add more in another month or two.

I'm a big, big fan of Serious Sam. One of my favourite games on Linux is Serious Sam 3 BFE. I've put over 55 hours of play into that. This looks pretty good fun. Playing Serious Sam style game play in a VR environment could blow your mind!
Shadow Warrior 2 may not come to Linux after all, it's getting a bit confusing

Well, Shadow Warrior 2 has now been released, and the people who've bought it, for Windows, seem to be loving it. Sounds like it is well optimised, and runs well even on older graphics hardware, and the gameplay is great.
Fingers crossed for a Linux release *soon*. I, for one, am very interested in getting this on Linux and enjoying it. (Yes, I know it may never happen, but then... look at Mad Max and Rocket League.)

Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition removed from stores in favour of the new Anniversary World Tour, no Linux support

Phew. Glad I at least own Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition on GOG, which has Linux support (presumably via Wine wrapper). Seems like all the Duke games that were available to buy on GOG are now gone, and can't be bought any more. Duke was one of my favourite games back in the good old days.
'Enclave', the 2003 action RPG now has a Linux beta that uses Wine

This was in my Steam collection, as part of a bundle I purchased months ago. Good that it has come to Linux, at last. I decided to give it a try for myself, and it wasn't what I'd call seamless to get it up and running.
First thing, needed to go into Enclave's properties on Steam, and activate the Beta Access. Once this is done it will install. At the end of the install, it mentions a Mono component that it can install (if you aren't using your distro's package of Mono).
After installing I had a go at firing it up, and the screen was very pixellated and too bright. I managed to go into the Video settings, and change to 3840x2160 32bit.
My Debian 8.6 Jessie (default Wine version is 1.6.2) wasn't happy launching the game, after the main menu. Needed to escape from it, and go into Steam/steamapps/common/Enclave/Game and edit the environment.cfg
Changed the VID_RENDER=Direct3D8 to VID_RENDER=OpenGL
To get the graphics behaving, after setting in the game Video menu, to my display settings, I needed to Quit out of the game, restart the operating system, launch Steam, and play Enclave again. After some more fiddling, restarting, setting brightness low, and still finding the game too bright / wrong gamma settings / and trying some things with xrandr in a terminal.
After this, I'm able to play, and it is working reasonably well (apart from the on-screen colours). Sound, music, controls - all reasonable. Completed the first section of the game "Escape the Dungeon" and ready for part 2, and BLAM... "UNRECOVERABLE ERROR ENCOUNTERED. PRESS ANY KEY TO QUIT."
And that's as far as I could get. I've tried reinstalling the game, running Linux updates, deleting the steamapps/common/Enclave folder after uninstalling, and then doing a "clean" install.
Yes, I'm not a big fan of Wine Wrapped games.
EDIT: Got past the problem.
Okay, so I went back into the environment.cfg and put back the VID_RENDER=Direct3D8
Today, it seems like the Enclave developers have sorted out the brightness issue in the game, and things are looking good now. With Direct3D8 setting, I have been able to play Part 2. I haven't observed any appreciable slow-down running as Direct3D8.
So, for me, it's working okay now.

Already got it. Need to get around to playing it. Noting that you don't have to pay the Paypal fee, if you go credit/debit card.
Shadow Warrior 2 may not come to Linux after all, it's getting a bit confusing

I've been really really keen on Shadow Warrior 2 ever since I saw its pre-release trailers, months ago. The fact that it was stated as coming to Linux also had me fired up. Then, when it was "no longer a first day release on Linux", I was a little disappointed, but hey, as long as it comes out a couple of months later then that's fine.
Now, the potential that it might not come to Linux at all, is very disappointing. Let's hope that this is something that is going to change in future. With the latest info, definitely stay away from pre-order until the Linux version is out.
