Grabbed it for myself. Surprisingly, I had nothing from the selection already.
For me, I wanted it for Cryptark, Has-Been Heroes (Windows, DRM-Free), Pinstripe, Slayaway Camp, Apotheon. (Watched game-play videos and read reviews before going ahead.)
There are a number of DRM-Free (+ Steam key) titles here, and I always like grabbing DRM-Free, just so that I'm not 100% reliant on Steam and can download an installer. Also, I'm happier to mess around with DRM-Free Windows titles in WINE (i.e. not Steam).
Meanwhile, my internet connection has been down at home for a few days, and as a result I haven't been able to login to Steam and access my Steam game collection. [Really ****ed off with my internet provider - Virgin Media fibre] Not having working internet really does bring attention to the fact that you need it for Steam gaming.

TIC-80, a 'fantasy computer' is now open source under the MIT license

You think that's an Avatar. Nah, it's my real picture. ;)

You're old! At least we used a Philips P2000! Oh wait, oops.
I find these pseudo retro thingies quite funny. On the surface they may appear to be limited like old computers, but when you have a more detailed look, they're still much more advanced than what we had back then. I still enjoy programming for the old 80s systems though.

Amused that the name "TIC-80" is very similar to Commodore's "VIC-20". Here's a bit of VIC-20 nostalgia:

You can likewise set up a 'throwaway' Steam login. I'm doing these steps myself, so I know if it works for future reference.
1. Grab your throwaway email account. e.g. [email protected]
2. Go to steampowered.com and sign in a new login with the throwaway account.
3. Go to humble and link the new steam account to humble.
4. Grab your DRM free download.
5. Never bother logging in to Steam.
6. Tada!!!! You have the DRM free download and you never used steam, and you can use this for all future freebies.
I have just done the steps above. Brand new email account, then brand new steam account (on website only), then brand new humble account, then go into humble settings and link to brand new steam account, then pick up freebie Outlast, then download the DRM free copy. At no point was I forced to download Steam client, install it, and use it - to perform the above steps.
So, as I said before - It is completely DRM Free. (Just a few more hoops to jump through, that's all.)

No, you cannot get it for free as DRM-free Download. I tried to 'buy' it (I do have a Humble account), but it leads to a page that says that I have to link my Steam account to the Humble Account.
Looking at the FAQ this seems to be the case for any free game.
I find that quite a disrespect of DRM-free users, and for me this makes Humble lose all the bonus points they got with their last 'Very Positive Bundle 2' :(

While you're on this subject, let me share my solution for "modern day problems"... I have multiple "throw-away" email addresses. I keep my primary address for instant contact, and for friends/family to use to contact me. My second email address I use for signing up with Banks, Amazon, Ebay and similar. Then I use a third address for services e.g. Twitter, Newspaper websites, Shopping sites, GOG, Steam, anywhere where I very rarely want to read the emails.

Quoting: GuppyThere is also a fairly huge discount on "we are the dwarves" there - almost enough for me to overcome the barrier of 'you need to create an account'.. almost but in the end my laziness prevailed.
Honestly it's 2017 what website that wants to make money do no have an option to buy with out creating an account - or at the very least an option to sing in with facebook/twitter/google/steam :|

A look at some great Linux & SteamOS racing games available in 2017

Not quite a regular racing game, but I'm pretty keen on Race The Sun.
For me, I often find I'm quite detached from the action in Racing Games. I don't find it is the same as driving a real car. I suspect that a racing game engagement might work better for me, if I was using a VR headset. Kart style racing in VR would probably work quite nicely.
For Dirt Showdown, if it is already in your account, you won't have lost it. But if you never bought it and want to buy it now, you're likely out of luck. This is due to brand licensing and the fact that the publisher is not willing to pay for another x years of licensing with the brands.
EDIT:
Just noticed that Race the Sun is 90% off on GOG. A very good price, and I recommend the game.

Blowing everyone up in EVERSPACE, my thoughts

Just had a "DUHHH" moment... Looking at my GOG Account, I spotted Everspace in it. Thought to myself - what happened there - I'm sure I picked it up for Steam.
The answer - Bought it on Humble Store sale a couple of weeks ago, and got the GOG *and* Steam keys. Aha, that explains it.

Yes, it cheered me up that all the games in the latest bundle supported Linux. Also... quite a few of them are DRM Free Downloads as well as having Steam keys.
For me, I've already got most of the nicer titles, namely RIVE, Shadow of Mordor, Oxenfree and will most likely get the lowest tier. So, anyone think Beat Cop or Death Road to Canada are particularly good (and why)?

Overlord and Overlord II are nice and cheap. And one of my recent faves, Dungeon Warfare is 50% off.
