Thanks for this. Annoyed with GOG for NOT mentioning when games are available on GOG Connect. Every so often I randomly check GOG Connect and 95% of the time, there's nothing. But 5% of the time, a few titles to import from your Steam account, so you get the GOG DRM-free goodness.

Personally I like getting the GOG version *as well as* the Steam version. Particularly if the game is a Windows only game. In cases where I have a DRM-free Windows game (i.e. from GOG), I am willing to experiment with running it under WINE.

Very, very big fan of Dying Light, myself. 130+ hours and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Haven't started The Following expansion yet - Looking forward to that.

Fell "in love" with the game mechanics. The parkour, jumping and climbing is done soooo well. The combat ..... soooo well. The environments.... they look gorgeous. The zombies ..... soooo realistic.

The story and cut-scenes could do with a little bit of work, but no game is 100% perfect.

On top of all that, I'm running it at 4K, no problem. Visually I feel that games such as Hitman and Mad Max aren't quite up to Dying Light's heights (i.e. they are not as visually stunning) yet they require a better system than mine to run well at 4K. (Also noting that I run Doom at 4K, at a very nice framerate, but Windows + Vulkan.)

Massive FTL fan here. 150+ hours. I've finally unlocked all the ships too. It'd be good to find something that is similar, importantly with good gameplay mechanics, lots of strategy, and the ability to pause the action to prepare orders.

In my case, I buy from lots of games companies. I'm doing my bit to pay for Linux gaming, supporting Feral and many others. I wasn't going to buy DiRT Rally at 50% off. However, as part of Humble Monthly subscription, with a selection of other titles - I'm willing to pay the subscription price.

What would you prefer:
- Feral getting zero from me, with me not buying a game that I am so-so about?
- Feral getting a smaller amount for DiRT Rally, as part of the Humble Monthly?

(It was a rhetorical question, pretty obvious what the answer is going to be!)


The comment earlier by "wojtek88" regarding Steam Machines - It does deviate from this Feral Big Easter Sale post - BUT it did strike a cord with me. I decided to follow up that comment by hunting out for Steam Machines sold in the UK (where I live). Here is my finding, and I think GOL should probably consider write a new article discussing it:

- There are very very few manufacturers selling Steam Machines.
- Of those few, the Steam Machines are pretty expensive - The typical price is ~ £1200.
- At that price, one could build a BETTER PC running SteamOS (or Linux). Or pay much less for similar spec.

Of those games listed, only 4 I'm missing. =P

Yes, I picked up DiRT Rally in the Humble Monthly Subscription. Hoping that INSIDE might make its way to Linux (eventually). I was another one where I wasn't keen enough on DiRT Rally to pay full price. But at the Subscription price: "Yeah, why not!"

Also I recently picked up "7 Days To Die" on Humble Store (and used my Subscription 10% extra discount). I've been playing 7DTD and quite enjoying it. Full price: £18.99 Humble current price: £7.59 10% extra off: £6.83

As much as I'm somewhat interested in the Enhanced Edition, I already own the original and feel the Enhanced one is priced too high for existing owners.

Also, while I'm being picky, I don't like the fact that the Original version is taken off the market now that the Enhanced Edition is released. You can still get the Original, but only as part of a purchase of the Enhanced Edition.

Noting that Septerra Core on Steam released the Linux port on 14 Nov 2016, and Jack Orlando's Linux port came out on Steam on 20 Mar 2017. Good that GOG is getting them, but shame about the delay.

I'm a big fan of Ziggurat. One of the earlier FPS games I got stuck into when I converted my gaming to Linux. Like Hamish, I started off with earlier classics - Wolf3D, Doom, Duke3D, Quake, Blood, Heretic, Hexen - played on DOS or Windows.

Before I played Ziggurat, I had been playing loads of Nexuiz and Xonotic multi-player deathmatch on Linux (especially Nexuiz) - literally for years, until most of the community moved on.

I'm reasonably in agreement with what everyone has said about Ziggurat. My thoughts on it:

The selection of weapons and choosing which ones to keep - makes the game more interesting.
Unlocking additional characters, abilities, and weapons over repeated plays - keeps you coming back.
Adjusting play style, based on character choice and weapons and items picked up - keeps it fresh.
Although the random procedurally-generated levels do get same-y after many playthroughs - not so bad.
At least the type of levels changes as you progress - you only get to see them if you progress well.
Achievements, unlocking items and characters - e.g. killing X number of particular monster, finishing the game.

Took me quite a long time to finish the game (the first time) and then more time to unlock each character. It is a hard FPS. Maybe not as hard as Serious Sam on Serious setting, but when you die - BOOM - Back to the start. With Serious Sam 3: BFE (and the earlier SS games, which can be played with Fusion) you can SAVE whenever you like.

Taking this basis for investigating what the next Feral release could be - The existing Developers/Publishers and their most likely games titles. This is what I came up with:

Rise of the Tomb Raider
Just Cause 3
theHunter: Call of the Wild
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (but it is 4 months from release)
Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War III (but it is a few weeks away from release)
Viking: Battle for Asgard
NieR: Automata (it's another Square Enix game, but PlatinumGames developers not linked to Feral before)

The above possibilities are due to existing relationships, games which are not out on Linux or Mac, and games which are recent enough to be possibilities. Obviously, this misses out new relationships with new Publishers.

I was also interested in the "MADE TO WADE" and the "TEA" words in the hint. Note that the letters T,E,A are in "MADE TO WADE". If you remove letters TEA you get this: "M A D O W D" (That has DOW ~ Dawn of War ~ tucked away in it.) Or you get this, removing the first A: "M D O W A D" (also DOW in there).

I also tried just taking out the "T" ( sounds like "TEA" ) character and you have these left: "MADE O WADE".
I then looked at words I could make out of those letters, and found things like this:
MEADOW ~ could be theHunter (removing TEA letters)
WOADED ~ could be Vikings (removing TEA letters)
O MAD WEED ~ no idea (uses up all remaining letters, after taking out T letter)
DOW MD ~ Dawn of War M? D? (removing TEA and E and A letters)
MADE DOW ~ Made Dawn of War (removing TEA letters)

Based on PixelPi's approach, I'd say it is likely to be one of the one's I've listed above. Although a new publisher relationship (e.g. with Flying Wild Hog, for instance) would add many other possibilities.
