Blasphemous confirmed to release for Linux on September 21

If a developer does not want to support Linux, IMHO, it is better to discard said developer and move on to a project with proper support. It is not that we lack native games nowadays, besides, games are just an entertainment and there are a lot of options when it comes to entertainment (I honestly do not understand some peoples' obsession with "that one game that keeps me from switching to Linux").

Quoting: CyrilBut now I maybe could pirate games, like this case, who refuse to deliver the Linux version on all stores equally to the Windows (or macOS) users.Better not to. Even if a pirated game is "free" monetarily, it still will consume your time. And time is the highest price one pays for games (and it is in limited supply). On top of that, playing pirated games with your friends is basically promoting the product without getting paid.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80I may of missed something is that common knowledge that it was THQ call or was that GOG making the decision not to support a linux version.Maybe you have.
Quoting: Whitewolfe80What is the licensing model do gog have to pay a few for each platform they sell a game for ?I believe GOG does not differentiate between platforms. Thus, porters had no way of knowing the amount of port sells vs. original platform sells.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 is out today, some details for you (plus new driver release)

But if this is not feasible (so much for the Power of Open Source!), then yes, a working proprietary stand-in driver at day-1 is needed. After all, what would I do with an expensive card (let's pretend I made a pre-order or something) if it just refuses to work (even in VESA or framebuffer mode). Look at it? Admire it? Place it on a shelf like a trophy?

Quoting: pete910Well, no. In fact I was thinking of AMD working closer with community or even writing stuff into the Open Source drivers preemptively in order to provide support at day-1.Quoting: Alm888Hey, AMD! Did you see that? That's how it is done! A driver on a day-1!
I hope you can reproduce this "magic" of delivering on day-1 next time when I update my PC's GPU, as I really want to try your products out. Do not worry, AMD, you have plenty of time to practice yet.
Like AMD do with their prop driver too you mean

do not look fancy enough for you? Believe me, I have more just on GOG (and Steam probably has 100x the amount).
Honestly, I'm in shock from the fact that you assumed I have no taste for graphics.
But, more importantly, as was written somewhere, details are of importance to good games, not the "level of detail". All those so-called AAA-games are just lootbox/casino/pay-to-pay-to-win/second-work with high polygon count to me.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80…so have I you may love indie games that look like really bad snes games but i grew up in that era and snes games looked better than that. So, these indie games:
- EVERSPACE™
- Alwa's Legacy
- Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark
- ATOM RPG: Post-apocalyptic indie game
- CrossCode
- X4: Foundations
do not look fancy enough for you? Believe me, I have more just on GOG (and Steam probably has 100x the amount).

Quoting: slaapliedjeSpeaking of trash, whatever happened to Bum Simulator? Was totally looking forward to that!Honestly, did not even know about this. Steam™ sure can surprise sometimes.
Quoting: RadicalDreamerThis makes me so mad. This was to be expected to happen at some point. Porters like Aspyr, Virtual Programming or Feral are just crutches we were relying while we had almost no games (back in the day "The Battle for Wesnoth" was the best game available on Linux). Now is the time to discard the crutches. Surely, it will hurt a little for the first couple of days, but soon we will walk and run just fine!

Sure, some Windows-games may be good, but this is not an excuse for being an un-paid Windows-game promoter/advertiser. One shall know not only where we are, but also where we want to be; and I, for one, clearly do not want to be in a world of Windows-only games sometimes translated into Linux ecosystem via wrappers and developers not giving a damn about their games' compatibility with said wrappers. I want full-fledged day-1 first-class-citizen style releases.
Thankfully, these windows games' ads have become rare here to my delight. :)

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Without getting into a full debate yeah i know there are tons of linux native indie games but lets be real here most of them are trash.Without getting into a full debate, I think I've just read some trash.
Quoting: DebianUserI'm surprise to see Proton-Only game's articles here. Obviously a game running via Proton is a game playable on Linux, so it's relevant, but i think it may be counterproductive if we want developper to support Linux.IMO, the problem is not the "Proton-Only game's articles" per se, but these articles here, on this site. The article writers shall convince Windows-gamers on Windows games news sites (and forum threads) to try out Linux because a game X "works fine with Proton™", not Linux locals of this site to spend their money on a Windows game (no matter the quality!) instead of supporting Linux gaming. Honestly, it is worse than preaching to the choir, it is almost like an act of direct sabotage.

That's on their configurator page. :(
Also, no option for other languages (and matching keyboards) than English.

I remember this game from the one time my friend tried to introduce me to it (in order to play co-op). We played once on his Windows machine and that's it. I was not really interested.
Now, I bet he does not even remember this game. The time has passed.
