The developer of 'Inner Voices' will seriously consider a Linux version with enough interest

Quoting: InnerVoicesDevHow about this guys? I just created a google form just for you, regarding Linux port of Inner Voices.

Sorry, but have to reject the proposal. I will never buy a game from Steam™. :(
So, I will ignore the poll as both of the answers are unsatisfactory.

Quoting: Alm888Eeww... What does Steam-link have to do with Linux?
Plenty actually. It requires a PC to use, like a Linux PC.

Does it know how to stream from Linux? (I really don't know, no joking.)

The only thing I know about Steam-link is that is that one thing that killed "Steam Machines" (because in place of unreasonably expensive and impotent "Steam Machine" one can get a cheap "Steam-link" and stream all of the games from Windows PC everyone has by default).

GOG staff state that Galaxy for Linux is being worked on, but still no ETA

Quoting: razing32... so what if we don't have the Galaxy client yet ?

From practical point Galaxy is nearly useless. I know for sure, while we are hurt by the absence of Galaxy, some Windows-using guys on GOG forums are sad to have Galaxy. ^.^

But that's not the main issue. GOG agressively advertizes Galaxy and sometimes is even giving games for free to those who use Galaxy (as part of their advertizing campaign). So by not providing Galaxy to Linux they are actually exhibiting disrespect to Linux users. In fact, GOG's Linux adoption has not progressed much from initial launch.

Having said that, I must admit, I still will use GOG as almost exclusive store for my gaming needs. Sorry, but being DRM-free is the top priority for me, even slightly superior than having a Linux version (I can buy a Windows-only game provided it satisfies a lot of criteria, but will never purchise DRM-ed game, including Steam) and among DRM-free stores GOG is the only to have regional pricing (actually making games 4 times cheaper in my currency than on any other store besides Steam, up to the point that a 80% discount on Humble Bundle equals to full price on GOG).

Typical PR BS. "We are working on it"®™.

Without any proof it is lols of hot air and nothing else.

Adventure game Syberia 3 looks like it will be heading over to Linux

From what I heard, it is a "meh" game with bad "consolized" controls. No Linux version. DRM (and what a DRM that is!). Steam-only.

Finished the first game in the series. Liked it. Played the second one. Got bored, dropped. Probably won't bother with the third one if it actually gets its release on Linux.

Ashes of the Singularity almost has Vulkan ready, doesn't have Linux on the radar right now

Quoting: STiATWhat I'm questioning myself: Why the Vulkan port if there is no plan for Linux? Porting from DX12 (which they currently use) to Vulkan if you don't release ashes on linux makes zero sense...

Ask Bethesda why exactly this is so (see "Doom" ). At this point any assumption that Vulkan support means imminent Linux version is just wishful thinking and nothing else.

I don't understand, what all this fuss is about?

"Ashes of Mediocrity"? Are we speaking about that one "DirectX 12 flagship" that was used by Microsoft in its PR campaign? The game that still lacks Vulkan support and was deemed so-so? The one that is practically a DirectX 12 techno-demo?

I just don't get it. What this "title" is doing on this site?

All in all, I understand Toby wanted to tell a tale and that's what he did... But it is not an excuse for absolutely broken and unsatisfactory game aspects.

Linear, unimaginative "dungeons", the whole game is just "gastrointestinal tract" -- twisted, yet one-way only. Simple "puzzles" you have to solve time and time again if you chose to re-play the game.

Non-functional RPG mechanics. I understand Toby Fox wanted to deconstruct the whole "grind" thing. It was not necessary to break the gameplay to tell the simple idea of pacifism. I mean, look at "Iji", the game tells the same story while remaining fun to play (in case of pacifist run -- dodge all those projectiles). And why Toby kept the one most annoying part: "Random Encounters"? Why punish players so much? Fun fact: the more protagonist kills, the less (s)he encounters monsters. So it is profitable to slaughter some monsters just for the sake of convenience!

Storytelling is meh... Most of the characters are bad: Papyrus? Annoying. Sans? Annoying x2. Also, thinks of himself too much. Undyne? Let me slaughter that bitch! Mettaton? See "Undyne". IMHO, most of the characters are outright repulsive.

And the game looks really cheap. Most NPCs are not animated. They are cardboard dummies staying in one place.

Owerall, for me it is hugely overrated "game" (if one can call it that). Not even close to something like "Cave Story" or "Iji".

But the music is awesome!
