This looks like the beginning of an exponential curve... we might be at the inflection point. Let's hope it keeps going this way. :)

Palworld hits 19 million players in less than two weeks - beating the latest Pokémon

There's no way Nintendo would ever have made that game. Ever. I've never been a fan of Pokemon and monster catching games in general, I find that they are just grind, grind and more grind. The battles are boring and have very little strategy involved. But Palworld, now, we are talking. You, the hero, can actually do useful stuff, you are not just a spectator anymore. Combine this with a survival/crafting game and I'm sold. The kids think its the best game ever. Even my wife loves it, she likes it enough to play it by herself. She never does that normally, we only play coop games like Serious Sam once in a while, and its enough video games for her.

Never Grave from the Palworld developer looks a lot like Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight had a lot of qualities, but the bland monochromatic look of the environment was not one of its strengths... Its far from the grandiose colorful areas of other metroid style games.

Quoting: woox2kIt's one of those games i always plan to start playing again but never do...

The game itself is amazing! Loads of content, challenging, story is interesting, looks amazing even though it is just another block world but they somehow nailed it.
Yet, i feel the whole "the world is a staircase" is getting a bit old and is a bit offputting. Another huge issue is the combat mechanic, or the lack of it. Every encounter just feels dull and seems as if you are fighting with cardboard cutouts.

They have asked the community to vote on priorities often in the past, the combat update was always dead last at the bottom. Most players want more stuff to build, more heavy simulation stuff and some more story. A real combat update will come in time, but clearly it's not what the community wants short term.

As usual, I'll have to comment that this game keeps getting better and better and better and better... and it was already amazing to start with. This update is no exception, so many more things to do!

This one is surprisingly fun. It looks simple, but the game play is there. It's fast and fun.

Then propose a better way to the game author to make sure copies are legitimate. It's a small team, with a husband and wife pair doing most of the work. They have also guaranteed that should something happen and they can't work on it anymore, they would open source the game and remove the call home. I don't know what more you could want. If that doesn't work for you, then buy the game, and download a cracked copy, or write your own DRM stripper, its trivial according to those that have done it. The game has most of its source code available and its in C#, so you can hook into pretty much anything.
