It's nice to see that Flatpak - and Flathub as the default store - are continuing to focus on improving the desktop experience not just for the user, but for the developer as well.
Hopefully the system they build for doing the entitling of purchased applications is something that's going to be usable for more Flatpak repositories than just Flathub, since there's really not any good ways to distribute paid Linux applications right now, especially not in a way that lets them properly integrate with the system.

You know, I've seen one project so far where I feel that their choice of a blockchain actually was a decent solution; ALFIS - a decentralized DNS system.
They use the blockchain as an append-only log to track domain entries, while natively supporting peer-to-peer distribution and validation of the data - so DNSSEC and such is possible. And they use the act of mining as a means of artificial scarcity, to avoid people instantly grabbing all the attractive names, without having to actually "pay" for them.
But both of those things are dwarfed beneath the one thing they do that really makes me feel that blockchain is the right choice for them; They don't try to assign any goddamn monetary value to their tokens.
Now if only people would also do NFT software that actually used NFTs as database tokens, and not as some kind of glorified digital tulip mania.

They've had their Flatpak beta for a while now, still missing a few things to let all their runners work, but for regular Wine - and native Linux game - usage it's been possible for many months. (My desktop install of the Lutris beta Flatpak is from December)
You can also include the version in the flatpak install command itself to speed things up;
This was actually one of the first things I did after getting my own Deck, since I'm part of the Star Citizen LUG, and wanted to see how well it'd do with such a heavy game. Currently not possible to play it in game mode due to what seems like a resolution switching issue, but it works remarkably well in desktop mode - albeit with some input difficulties.

flatpak install flathub org.gnome.Platform.Compat.i386//42 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL32.default//21.08 org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default//21.08

X4 did reasonably well when TDP limited as well in my testing, with settings tweaked some. Definitely playable on Deck, that's for sure.
And it seems that Egosoft have gotten their hand on at least one Deck too (shown off sitting on the X4 menu during an interview with a streamer), so they're definitely looking to improve things - hopefully they'll start getting some Deck verification stamps soon.

Quoting: Serious_TableX4 has worked pretty well on the Steam Deck in my experience! You can expect about 30 FPS in space stations, but 60 pretty much non-stop in Space!

Wonder why Planetside 2 is marked as unsupported due to anti-cheat, seeing as it's working perfectly on regular Linux/Proton - they've enabled the BattlEye support after all.

Probably going to play a round of Stellaris - or an RTS like Timerborn - the first I do, it was how I christened my Steam Controller after all. (Civ: V back then)

Really love what Framework is doing, unfortunately not really an option for me until they get a 15" one out, I get cramped using those small 13" keyboards - which does hamper my productivity a bit.
Hopefully they'll get an AMD one out as well, that core count is sexy when you're doing development work.

Some BattlEye games seem to have enabled the support without really mentioning it anywhere. Been playing a bunch of Planetside 2 with no issues, and that's a BattlEye game.

Wait, for that comparison image, are Nvidia saying that a lower resolution image upscaled with DLSS gives a better resulting 4k quality than a native 4k render?
