It´s interesting to see the growth of the Proton-Code:

AMD have today released the Radeon RX 5700 series GPUs and the Ryzen 3000 series CPUs

QuoteSorry for the delay, AMD decided at some point to stop sending us press releases.
Did AMD give a (good) reason for this?

GOL is one of the largest, if not the largest, web sites dedicated to gaming on Linux. How can AMD, which offers acceptable Linux support on the one hand, on the other hand stop sending press releases to the website that reaches a large part of their Linux customers?

It's incomprehensible for me because it should be a cinch to add another email address to a mailing list. Even more incomprehensible to me is why an address like GOL's is removed from it.

No. I do not have any other EAC protected Windows-Games in my library. At least not that I know of it.

Has anybody noticed this in Steam Forums? My own test was positive, too, as mentioned from me in the Steam-Thread:

Would be nice if someone else could test it, too.

Easy Anti-Cheat are apparently "pausing" their Linux support, which could be a big problem (updated)

For anyone who wants the Sweeney tweet with "... Installing Linux ... moving canada ..." to show that Sweeney doesn't like Linux (not to mention that he hates Linux):

Quoting the tweet directly omits the context!

Regardless of the fact that I don't like the guy for his current actions either, he didn't mention that to make Linux bad. Sweeney has been upset about the limitations (Windows Paywall) that MS is planning for Windows:
-> https://twitter.com/TimSweeneyEpic/status/964043031715467264

In the following he has only taken up the answer of another tweeter to it:

QuoteONE TWO THREE
@_photex_
Time for Linux! or FreeBSD! I don't care, but let's all just start pooling resources and giving our money to these foundations instead.

That one has suggested switching to Linux. And Sweeney then with his answer wanted to say that a change of platform ("(...)Installing Linux is sort ... moving to canada (...)") does not prevent the emerging restrictions under Windows. And that one should defend the currently still "existing freedom" under Windows against the restrictions by Microsoft ("(...) Nope, we've got to fight for the freedoms we have today, (...)").

In context it looks a bit different.

There should be a native Linux version according to a developer in the Steam forum. It should appear at the same time as the console version.

QuoteHello,

We are still targeting a native linux version at the same time than the consoles version (port will take a long time but it's on our roadmap)

Google announce ‘Stadia’, their new cloud gaming service built on Linux and Vulkan

I doubt that big publishers like EA with Origin or Bethesda will be part of it. At least not at the beginning. However, if a critical mass of subscribers is formed, they might eventually see themselves forced to be present there as well. But it also depends on how the monetization for the developers/publishers looks like.

But there is another aspect that must not be forgotten. Many stay with Windows because they can simply play their games there. Maybe one or the other will switch to Linux soon, because he will be able to play his games OS-independently in his browser.
