Intel begins talking up their open source efforts for their upcoming dedicated GPU

Supporting the commercial underdog is neccessary for diversity on the markets. That is the reason why I has and I will prefer AMD-products. And, by the way, we are not at the technical end of performance when looking at the Ryzen-CPUs. The Vega-GPUs are a little behind what Nvidia shows, but they still have the performance to play in the high regions counted in FPS. By the way, similar to the CPUs from Intel, I expect medium to significantly higher prices than with AMD. They will probably be in similar regions as the Nvidia cards.

Therefore: As long as there is no performance or no price/performance ratio that makes everything else look just crude old and knocks me off my socks, I will continue to support the commercial underdog and AMD.

What have you been playing recently and what do you think of it?

GTA V and No Man´s sky via Proton.
Battlefield V via Wine/DXVK and Lutris.

The war of the PC stores is getting ugly, as Metro Exodus becomes a timed Epic Store exclusive

I can already see the future news:

"Deep Silver sacks 50% of its staff and closes Studio 4A Games."
Basingstoke, UK: Publisher Deep Silver announced in a press release that 50% of its workforce had already been dismissed at the turn of the month. At the same time, Studio 4A Games, which has made a name for itself with the development of games from the Metro series, was closed. The background is supposed to be the sales figures of "Metro: Exodus", which lagged far behind expectations. (...)"
:P

Thumb up for this!

As soon as there is the final release I will update my current 0.4.23 version.

Info:
I installed the Origin client with Lutris. And over this then Battelefield 1 and Battlefield V. Runs super with about 60 and 50 fps. :)

Darwin Project no longer works in Steam Play, due to Easy Anti-Cheat

Quoting: liamdaweYet here we are and now today I'm seeing reports that GTA5 online is also now entirely broken...
A solution is in sight for GTA5 Online. With a workaround you get the game up and running (again). At Github two users already report that they can play online again with this approach.
-> https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/37#issuecomment-453889173

There will also be a tutorial later on how to fix this.

So it is not up to Rockstar to exclude Linux players. And I expect the basis for this workaround to be included in the official packages of DXVK, Wine and/or Proton (depending on what needs to be adjusted) in the medium term.

This is the same as with the game SCUM. Also ran flawlessly at first. And then EAC was installed and the show was over.

For now, the experimental Linux (and Mac) port of ARMA 3 will not see any more updates

Well, ARMA 3 uses BattlEye so playing online is not likely to ever work with Steam Play.

The use of an installer or launcher does not automatically exclude the possibility of playing online with it. For example, this even works with Battlefield I and V and Origin:
