SCUM, a very exciting sounding open-world survival game should come to Linux

Scum has gone ...

After the last patch with which Easy Anti Cheat was implemented, surprise, the game with Steam Play/Proton is no longer playable. In multiplayer you are always kicked by the server. But I think singleplayer is still possible.

For those having performance issues - maybe +40FPS:

I was not able to check if this work with Steam Play for Linux, because the main performance gain will come by switching to dx10 instead of dx11. I don't know if this will do any good, because then OpenGL will be used instead of Vulkan.

I will test this evening.

Quoting: BeamboomMaybe you guys understood this right from the start, but it struck me only yesterday:
You know how Valve had 27 titles on the "whitelist" when they launched this new Google Play?
Did you ponder on the number 27?

Linux are celebrating it's 27th birthday these days!
*ROFL*
Maybe so.

Developers of the RPG 'Edge Of Eternity' are still waiting on Unity before supporting Linux

If you would actually read the linked post, you'd already know what they are waiting for.
I've read and these are the OpenGL requirements because they are now panning to OpenGL.

My question is, what kind of Vulkan support are they waiting for? Vulkan is already supported since V5.6 and therefore March 2017(!)!

Did you read the links in my posting?
The time they said about Vulkan was in 2016...
That makes it even worse. What they demanded in 2016 was realized in 2017. And in 2018 they switch to something else, which theoretically would have already been possible in 2016... *insane*!

EDIT
I've written the same thing in the steam thread now:

If I read that correctly, the Unity engine has had Vulkan support for 1-2 years already:
-> https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/unity-56-is-now-available-with-full-vulkan-support.9430

In May the Vulkan support for the Linux-Unity editor was even released in a beta version:

The amount of Linux users on Steam has increased when going by daily active users

Quoting: muellLiterally stagnation for two years and the headline is 'The amount of Linux users on Steam has increased when going by daily active users'. So you're really doing this on purpose, are you?
It´s not literal stagnation. The absolute number of players has increased. Although the increase is not overwhelming.

Now that wine is getting ready to play even demanding AAA Windows games with acceptable FPS thanks to DXVK, for example, I am considering using a Windows Steam client under Wine.

Unfortunately I will then be counted as a Windows user and not as a Linux user in a hardware survey.

Too bad. :(
