Google gives up on Stadia, will offer refunds on games and hardware

A last and late comment from me:
My Stadia replacement in the living room will be my Steam Deck (by the way: I have the 64Gb eMMC version, which I upgraded myself with a 1TB NVMe SSD) with the docking station. The official one from Valve.
I have also already started to re-buy various titles on Steam that were included in my Stadia Pro subscription and are now no longer available and were also enjoyed by my children. For example, Cake Bash.
Due to the refund from Google virtually for free, if I add it up. Only the additional power consumption in the living room will cost me more in the long run.

JSAUX wasted no time with a new Steam Deck Docking Station with DisplayPort

I also stick with the official dock solution.
1. on the one hand to support Valve directly.
2. but on the other hand also because I'm sure that there will always be firmware updates and support if necessary. With the previous JSAUX docking solution, there have already been problems with the frame rate:

https://www.jsaux.com/blogs/steam-deck/guide-to-enjoy-your-jsaux-docking-station-in-4k-60hz
3. the official dock comes with another power supply. So I can leave that connected to the dock all the time, while I can take the power adapter that comes with the Steam Deck with me everywhere without having to unplug it from the dock every time.
I also ordered one yesterday already (99 euros). According to the order 2-4 weeks delivery time.
BTW - for me, the Steam Deck with the docking station will be the replacement for the discontinued Stadia in the living room. Some games that my kids liked to play on Stadia (e.g. Cake Bash) I have already bought new on Steam.

Quoting: elmapulgoogle didnt fail to comunicate that as fair as i remember, but a lot of youtubers miss interpret and repeated what they understood. But Google has failed in marketing. All these false statements could also have been countered with sensible marketing. But marketing was more or less a complete failure at Google, as far as Stadia is concerned.

You mean Gylt, right? I guess it's better to complete it while it still works, just in case.

Quoting: BlackBloodRumI wonder if they'll do real refunds to your bank account, or just give you credit to your google account so that you have to still use their services to use your refunds? That would be okay for me. I get back about 280€. Could invest that in a Google Pixel 7, which I want to buy. :)

I bought it back in 2006 (when it was still on Windows) and played through it.
Well, now I downloaded the remastered version and played through it again. In two evenings. According to Steam 15.5 hours of playtime. When you start, you can hardly stop.
