Those RTX 40 series cards look interesting as well as nVidia using dxvk to improve older DX9 games. Let's hope those also benefit Linux users.

What comes to the prices, all of the announced cards are too expensive me to consider buying any of them. And that is even if I had the money -- I just cannot justify spending that much money for occasional gaming session even if I had more time to play games. And for kids.. NO WAY.

It also looks like that nVidia will not drop RTX 3060 prices at all, which likely means that the other models will not see much price reduction either. I guess that it is a good (but nonetheless disappointing) thing as I already happen to own RTX 30 cards.

For me 30 FPS in a Steam Deck bothers me a lot less than I thought. That and 800p resolution. I would never play anything under ~55 FPS in a large screen, but in a small screen I hardly notice the low frame rate.

That said, I do not play any FPS nor multi-player, so...

If someone is interested where the 64GB queue in EU is at, my order was made next day, 17:35 EEST (got email yesterday).
At the same time 256GB order made 45 minutes since launch is still MIA.

I cannot find anything exciting in this mini-PC, but it does make Steam Deck to look like a really good deal.

The issue with most mini-PC's are that they are always using old and weak hardware and still end up costing more than a laptop with very similar or even better specs.

I think the general issue with mini-PCs is that they are very cheap in used market as they are commonly used in offices and nobody seems to be interested to buy used. Heck, I got one over 3 years ago for 230€ and it still performs almost as well as R7 3750H aside of iGPU, which is weak in comparison. And it has no issues running Linux either.

Maybe someone should make a mini-PC with the specs and price similar to Steam Deck..?

Kingdom Come works very well in Linux, I get 4K (FSR Ultra) / ~60 FPS with almost everything maxed out using RTX 3070 Ti.

Unfortunately, in many cases even if the game had native Linux support you're just better off using Windows version of the game because of the Linux version lacks many features, either because they were never ported to Linux or the game was never updated to the latest version in Linux.

Immutable means copy-on-update, so while the filesystem image is read-only, the filesystem would still allow any file to be updated. It just keeps the original versions of the files in place, in case if you want to do a hardware reset. This is also how all cellular phones (and most other devices such as routers, TVs etc) work, so there's really nothing new and special about it.

I think that having an immutable filesystem for OS is a great idea as it allows you to easily reset the system in case if it stops working. After all most people will use it as a handheld gaming console and not as a PC.

Wow! I'm really impressed on FSR. Just lower the resolution and you get much better performance in 4K without seeing any obvious difference in image quality!
