Feral Interactive are teasing a brand new native Linux port
24 August 2018 at 6:28 pm UTC Likes: 13

With people now being able to buy and play (many) Windows games on Steam so easily, these teasers are not going to do Feral any favours.

Feral - just say what the port is so people know whether to wait.

Many of us make a point of buying in such a way that the porter is guaranteed to get something out of it. If we buy a non-native game now, sure it gets flagged as a Linux sale to the publisher, but when a native port comes out later, Feral get nothing out of it.

Re the banning. I can also confirm that at least Overwatch has no problem with that. Plus it runs great.

What are you playing this weekend?

Since Overwatch is having a free weekend, I thought it a good opportunity to give DXVK a spin. It works rather well. I'm impressed.

Ahh yes, confirmation bias.

No, when a crowdfunded project fails to deliver, it's not a negative on the whole concept. Personally I have had very few crowdfunding disappointments.

That said "We’re going to cut this feature" ?? Seriously, an entire platform for which you had a stretch goal is a "feature"? An fov slider is a feature. A button that spawns a dozen dancing gnomes is a feature. A port is not a "feature".

Quoting: EhvisLooks very good! But does it have a BR mode? :P

Yes! You and 49 other people all play the demo separately and the last one to get bored and leave is the winner.

Quoting: yar4eIn case they'll not port it to Linux we have WINE + DXVK ;)

Yes, but we should only pay if the hard work is made by the developer...

No, you should pay if you play it.

I might get lots of hate, but I don't think that developers want my money if they don't offer version for my operating system.

Solution: Don't play it.

Quoting: SadLYES!!! AT LAST!!!

Edit: oh.. kinda sad this was the "Proud seat of lucifer" though ..I guess they decided to reveal it because of the steam summer sales (I remember them saying that as long as a port gets announced they get a share, so maybe that is the reason - BUT not sure if this is the case with this port).

Same. Definitely was looking forward to this, but was also hoping that clue would be something else.
