It looks like more classic Topware Interactive games are coming to Linux

This is great for game preservation purposes. These may be Windows titles, but one day when they stop working on Windows, they'll still work on Wine, since it's open source and they can maintain the compatibility.

Just curious; you used a lot of open source software to make the game but used Unity as the game engine; were the other open source game engines like Godot not up to scratch? Is it a personal preference? Or is it a bit of both?

It's just what I am used to. No specific reason really.

Quoting: tuubiassuming the game wasn't built on the new Unity 5.5.

It was, and since a lot of what's in the game will form part of some future projects, I don't think it's wise for me to downgrade it unfortunately. So yah, I will add a note to the itch.io page.

Thanks all. "Earn living from free games" is the worst business plan though. But whatever - never said I was smart. :P

What Cheese said.

I'm also pushing a new build this morning built with the latest Unity - right after solving some screen/window/monitor goofiness. Wondering if it's not a 32bit/64bit thing. Latest build has a proper launch script too that might solve that.

EDIT: Try now. You itch.io app should kick off an update.

Total War: WARHAMMER released for Linux, port report and video

And we're down to just "Spacious Skies" on the Feral radar. The depth charge one vanished... either because this was it, or because it's another troubled Windows release like Dishonoured 2 that would have made a poor or too much effort Linux port.

Last side scrolling murder-chicken game I played was Rocketbirds. That one had a great soundtrack!

Make sure you play 'Gone Home' this weekend, as it's free for a short time

Quoting: sigzthis game is completed in 4hours, not sure the free week end is worth for developer.

I don't think they're doing to to get sales.

Quoting: omer666Same as Liam, I wasn't a fan of this universe, but now I'm even considering getting a box or two of the tabletop version!

Just don't confuse Warhammer with Warhammer 40K. This game is based on the former. They are kiiiinda in the same universe, but different eras and overall different genres.
This I know, but thanks for clarifying anyway ;)

Just making sure. :) There's a bajillion adaptations of 40K but only the occasional Warhammer, so it's easy to assume a thing is based off 40K.
