My specs are similar. I suspect the 970 is likely one of the cards they were testing on.

I'd definitely like to see proof of that, along with your specs, posted on the forum.
Regarding Feral's status as a good/bad porter, as you said, it's all relative. Some people are satisfied with performance lower than they'd get on Windows. Others aren't. And obviously, Nvidia users will be happier with them than AMD. It's all about your perspective and your expectations.
with the exception of a dip or two to 50 I can vouch that's what I get with a 970 and a intel i5 3570
shadow of mordor is a really great port, and everyone should buy it as it's a great game to boot.

I feel like every claim about how good or bad a port or porter is should be suffixed with "for me" or "on my system", because people have different experiences.

Quoting: GuestXCOM was ok, but Shadow of Mordor wasn't exactly the greatest.

Tangiers Is A Horror Themed Stealth Game Coming To Linux, I'm Going To Make Samsai Stream It

This is not a horror game. Surreal, perhaps a bit unsettling in its themes, but "horror" is most certainly not what they are going for here. It's meant to be full of symbolism, metaphor abound. They might say "horror-tinged" but if you follow some of their earlier discussions on it, around the time they were crowdfunding it, you'll see what I mean. I guess some might still be terrified. :)

Just chiming in to say that I have three games now that use this wrapper, and all of them look/run great on my system. There are obviously people that do have issues with it, but there's Steam refunds for that now.

It's not Linux only - just releasing on Linux first during the first month of their Early Access period.

What you refer to as "SJW-nonsense" is actually a worthwhile discussion to have and you'd have to completely lack empathy to not see that.

This whole discussion is moot anyway since the writing in VV is not great and the story/characters quite bland. Instead, I suspect the single protagonist thing is entirely related to budget. I'm sure if enough people ask, they might be persuaded to make it possible to play the maps/challenges as Irene, for example. Maybe even with some new outfits and demon powers.

Then tell me what impact that change had on the story. It would certainly add a significant wrinkle to the Frodo and Sam dynamic and color our perception of their relationship, so saying that the impact would be none is not entirely accurate.
You're right: None.
Now imagine if Eowyn's gender was changed to male. That would have a huge impact on that particular subplot.

I believe the actual game is the free-to-play title "Guess the Feral Tease" with a micro-transaction system where you can buy clues.
Cept I can't afford clues at the moment. I shall remain clueless until further notice.
( on a slightly more serious note, some release news for any of Feral's current anticipated titles would be dandy right about now)
