NVIDIA puts out a new release of their open source NVAPI interface

So what was the big news here? Of course you want to "open source" an API if you want others to make use of your stuff.
This is literally three header files (ie. long lists of variable name definition) and one C source file that implements a couple of helper functions.
No revolutionary insights into Nvidia's secret source or anything, just stuff to help you access their stuff so they can sell more of it. Which is fine, of course, they're a business after all. Just that it isn't newsworthy at all in my opinion – news about the corresponding driver release was, on the other hand.
It's a bit like saying "The supermarket got a new delivery of toilet paper" in one news item, and this here being the belated corresponding "Oh and by the way, you have to pay for it too", which is both obvious and implicit.
Maybe I just don't like corporations making headlines for the sake of making headlines.

Just watched your video – don't know why I bothered though, it is as bad as I imagined... apart from the textures, nothing has changed since Duke Nukem of the mid-nineties... the crappy animations, the pointless violence, the tough-ass right-wing philosophy, the de-humanized "enemies" – because they have to be immediately recognizable as being despicable and evil.
Please excuse me while I go puke.

Former deviant Religious McReligion gone hawkish law-and-order, shooting post-apocalyptic people ("zombies", probably) in the face?
Does the world really need yet more of that crap? SCNR, I'm so damned tired of all this violent, depressing shit.

I think although they say sales outside Steam are minuscule, focussing on the Steam numbers only leaves a good proportion of the Linux sales by the wayside; I have a feeling itch.io and GOG are more attractive to more Linux users than Steam is, percentage wise, even if overall numbers aren't anywhere close of course.
I'm not that much into city builders, but if I were to buy it, I'd certainly prefer itch over GOG over Steam, in that order.
Would be interesting to see the picture with the OS shares for either of those two market places too, as well as all the numbers combined.

Quoting: furaxhornyxIf anything, I'd fully expect to be charged premium for the "Stealth Edition™" product line. Maybe in another couple of years or a dozen... I mean "piano black" and glare displays were a real thing, or were they? And even ultrabright blue or white LEDs seem to be a little less omnipresent recently, but that too may just be my imagination. Or they finally managed to burn out my retina.Quoting: ValckOn the other hand, if there were one who did not even haveidiot lightsRGB illumination to begin with, on a component that goes inside a metal case never to be seen again, that would be even preferable.
And bonus points if they keep price reasonable, instead of charging you Premium Price with the "G4m3r 1337 Extra Super Edtion with real RGB LED (tm)"

It used to be available on itch.io too, but
QuotePurchasing disabled until further notice, as the itch.io Support ignores my repeated requests to supply vital tax related information (I need their VAT number and the ability to send them invoices to be able to continue selling). Please go buy the game on vintagestory.at or the humble store. Here's hoping this is only temporary and the game will be available again on itch some time in the future.

That was a bit of a big thing back then, motion capturing was still hot and new, like In Extremo's performance in the first part of the Gothic series which must have been about the same time.
I have to admit I haven't played any of their later titles; The Nomad Soul was such a special experience that I couldn't see myself playing anything even remotely similar. Very much the opposite happened with Gothic, where I had to play every part start-to-finish, and re-play it again shortly before the next instalment came out... good times.
