SteamOS 3.6.9 Beta for Steam Deck curiously mentions the ASUS ROG Ally

Appart from the mention of the ROG, i find more interesting the mention of the non-Steam kernel driver for the motion sensors. Maybe they are prepering to support an upstream kernel.

Sony gives up on forcing PlayStation Network for Helldivers 2

I think this is good, but with the linking stuff they may end up pushing, on the long term, the ps+ subscription on PC. SONY are now starting to boild the frog. Maybe are leaving helldivers but ghost of tsushima requires the link for multiplayer...

Quoting: EriA few weeks ago I read something about a new shader compiler for this Mesa update, with a small performance gain in some games. What happened with that?

Exactly! So, is LLVM replaced? Or did I misunderstand what this was supposed to do?
LLVM will be replace by ACO on the opengl part but not right now, on the vulkan part it's been years since they made the switch. This is an improvement made on the compiler.

It seams that the nvidia situation is complicated... With AMD it appears that it needs an updated version and proton experimental to work, mesa-git for better performance.

I've been able to play a littel and works well, regular proton crashes on starting a new game but using protonGE works well. I still need to see if there is something to note beyond the caracter creation but the intro worked ok.

Homeworld Remastered Collection and Severed Steel are free on Epic Games

Well the launcher is different and allow to easy load mods and appears to be loaded with the patch 2.3, on gog it's still on patch 2.1 and requires the mod to be fixed... Also if the patch 2.3 it's the same that the mod provides i hope they asked for permission to be included by default since it's part made by the community. Now let's see if this version is also put on gog and steam (Maybe it's already included by i don't own it there).

Edit: it's all ready on steam but i don't know if contains the community patch or not.

Those are great games, but they need a mod to work well, specially the first one.

With the steam version it's just needs to install from the workshop, but for the gog version have to do it manually and tweak the launch options. I think it will be the same process. When i get home i will try.

Steam Deck Verified has issues, Grand Theft Auto V edition

For me it's very simple: If a game requires another launcher, it should never go throw verification.

With game updates you already have an unknown factor, with a third party launcher it's even bigger... (It's rare that rendering it's broken on updates so it should pass. Horizon zero dawn it's the only game i know that break the rule)
