Humble have a Stand with Ukraine Bundle with 100% going to charity

There are other ways to donate, so being critical about Humble Bundle doesn't mean not donating at all. itch.io ended their bundle yesterday, but as always, charities accept also direct donations if you actually want to donate instead of essentially buying games (Humble Bundle being the party that is actually donating).

Quoting: TuxeeSo we have a bundle dedicated to charity and the "discussion" starts with bashing Humble Bundle and people feeling compelled to tell, why they are not donating.
Interesting.

I didn't even get that far. Before that there's tower you have to climb. I kept falling again and again and haven't resumed the game since.
Before that there are several memorable levels, so not all bad.

The last level on the first game is a real pain, many rage quits on that one.

While discussion has sidetracked to discussing meaning of words, I would still like to add few things, even if I'm bit late to the party.
I wouldn't worry too much about that people getting dumber. It's just that more varied types of people are able to computers (including even Linux), which shouldn't be a bad thing. Those that are already somewhat technical will discover the command line eventually. Google has tons of guides that are easy to stumble upon accidentally.
As Liam said, it's all about the audience. I do recommend command line at least indirectly at work, but there assumption is that audience is more technical than average person. Command line is great for people are aspiring to learn more, especially if they are planning to work with IT infrastructure.
There will still be room for Linux From Scratch and things like that. After all, with Linux you can fork it if you don't like the direction things are going.

Steam Next Fest is live once again with plenty of indie demos

I played it through when the remastered version came out. I might have the original still somewhere.
I think I must have looked at playthrough at least once when I originally played the game. There was one puzzle that was based on movement that I couldn't figure out as that wasn't a thing in adventure games before Grim Fandango.
Problem with looking at playtroughs is that once you start doing that, it's hard to stop. Some more modern games at least have integrated hint systems where the first clue is bit cryptic, so you still have think little bit.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyYeah, every time I play an adventure game I conclude that I really suck at the puzzles. Only one I've tried in long ages is Grim Fandango (remastered) and I didn't finish it even though I rather liked the characters and general setup.

I played the demo again earlier to refresh my memory.
I didn't notice that switch puzzle would have multiple possible solutions, but I wasn't looking for them. That could be annoying if the puzzle accepts only one solution, even when there would be multiple solutions that are correct.
I got stuck on other thing, but I found the item that I missed next day. I guess that's one thing that helps with puzzle games. Just taking a short break.
To be honest though, I have quite many puzzle games that I have taken quite long break from.

Quoting: PhiladelphusQuoting: AnzaSo, funny story, I got stuck on the very first puzzle about flipping switches to get the power on. I couldn't figure out the instructions, and didn't get any feedback on what I was doing wrong (despite finding several configurations that technically fit the instructions as written)…this is probably why I don't play adventure games in general. The game looks and sounds great, though, this is definitely on me I'm sure.Quoting: PhiladelphusQuoting: AnzaCrowns and Pawns: Kingdom of DeceitI didn't play this demo because I'm generally not really into adventure games, but from the trailer it looked really well done and I might put it on the wishlist. I got a good laugh out of the trailer conversation:
Nicest adventure game in this event that I have played.
"Someone broke into my grandfather's place last night."
"Oh, wow. Is he ok?"
"No, he's dead."
"What?!?"
"No, I mean, he passed away a while back. I'm just here to sell his house."
Puzzles are not too difficult. They might make you scratch your head a little, but you should be able to figure out the solution.

I asked those question because you started to be bit incoherent. We're back to the where we were before though. Might just have to agree to disagree here.
I have no idea what it would take to UN to get that kind of power.
West is certainly walking on tightrope here, Putin certainly is keeping the destruction of humanity on the table.
If Putin gets what he wants though, it's Putin has the most leverage for negotiations. Also Ukraine will be lost for long time, getting any already annexed areas back via negotiation will be near impossible.

You're creating connections that I never imply nor say in my answers. My point against guns supply is that Ukraine is lost and they will end up creating more harm that help. The only way to avoid the fall is that NATO directly involves, but that will not happen.

Quoting: x_wingThe best it can be done right now is to help as much as possible with the escape of all the families affected by this stupid war. Oh, and it would also be neat that we start giving this same repercussion all future stupid military operations that any other Western or Eastern country starts. Europe bypassed a lot of rules in the past that lead to allow Putin do this shit, something must be learn from this and political changes must be done so we reduce the chances of this type of conflict all around the globe (maybe put UN to an actual use would be neat).

Quoting: AnzaSo Russian army who thinks they're fighting Nazis should be let to invade Ukraine while international community still tries to find sanctions that actually have an effect? Army that's shooting at nuclear plants and bombing civilians?Quoting: x_wingSanctions will have an effect, that's for sure, but that effect requires time (just like it will take a lot of time to reduce EU energy dependency from Russia).
Putin was able to improve Russia military position but his economy is still weak and he can try all what he wants, but Russia needs Western more than what he believes. So yeah, you can be impulsive and go to an open war that destroys the humanity or simply be patient and get Putin to a dead end where he will have to negotiate an exit. IMO, the latter is our only chance.

Did I said that?
If Europeans should feel guilty is that in the recent past you did the same that Russia is doing (not in Europe, granted) nor didn't move a finger when similar stuff was happening in other places of the world. The only reason why you care about Ukraine is not because you feel attached to the population, but because the conflict is at the doors of Europe. But of course (and before pro-Russia users get exited) this still doesn't justify the military actions in Ukraine, Georgia or any other country were you got involved in a "liberation" war.

Indeed. Being pacifist is nice and all, but fighting against Russian invasion at the moment is much better alternative. It's Russia that's forcing people to fight war people don't want to fight.
Without giving weapons there's soon no need to evacuate. If we go to back to glory days of Soviet Union, borders will be closed and nobody is allowed to leave the country.

problem for both Europe and world. Also China will benefit from everything.
It all depends on what you refer as "helping". Helping to evacuate is one thing, giving more guns and forcing people to fight a war they don't want to is another.
Ukraine needs weapons and support, not trash talk from cheap cowards.
