Save islands from sinking by spreading life across them in Regrowth

Maybe it's some kind of metaphor for global warming. If planet doesn't warm up, water levels don't rise.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI only have one question in all this--why does growing plants on an island stop it from sinking?

Valheim gets a needed patch, new terrain-modification system and no more draugr in stones

Later in the game stone floor acts also as a roof. As a compromise earlier in the game, 26 degree thatch roof can be walked on. For 45 degree ones you need a ladder. Just place it on the roof and you can that way get to the top of the roof. If you have a wooden beam at the top, you can walk on that and do some repairs or whatever else you want to do while you're up there.

Quoting: NezchanAlso, a way to make flat roof pieces that don't degrade quickly as they get rained on would be super.

I'd like more challenging mobs. Not necessarily more aggressive, there's a lot to be said for the long peaceful interludes, but when a mob or a gang of mobs decides I'm the bad guy I'd like to be frightened. "Find your A game or get killed" s/b a thing. And a mass assault on your base should be terrifying.

Troll attack is terrifying if don't have good enough base defenses. Imagine what kind of damage trolls do to the trees. Then imagine same kind of damage to base made out of wood. I made moat early enough so damage was limited and with my plains base plains mobs will kill some of the trolls.
Also drake seem to go for the boar pen. Luckily I built a roof just for aesthetics. I would suppose mobs from other events could do the same, but only drake fly over my moat.

Regular trolls are relatively weak with decent enough gear, so I just hit them few times with an atgeir. Wouldn't be able to reach higher than gut though...
They also stagger if you shoot them in the head, which gives you moment to get some distance or deal some extra damage.
Trolls have their uses though, so it's better not to kill them right away. Chopping down trees is the usual side effect if they chase you in the forest, but even more useful is to use them as mining helpers. Just stand on top of ore, wait until troll is ready to strike and sprint away before it hits. Repeat until you have more ore than you can carry.
For getting rid of trees, later in the game lox are better than trolls. As they charge towards whatever is pestering them, trees are common collateral damage. Better to tame or kill them if they spawn close to your base...

Quoting: slaapliedjeTook a while, but we figured out that the Trolls don't like being shot in the belly! Does extra damage there. Now with the Draugr Fang, even with normal arrows, I take down a Troll in 3 or 4 shots to the gut.

That's actually the ideal case. Epic paid for the exclusivity, so if game doesn't sell at all in Epic store, Epic loses money. Though there's danger that publisher thinks that game is not good and doesn't bother selling it in the other stores.

Quoting: RoosterQuoting: KuJoWell ... in the meantime it's on Steam. But I was so pissed off at the time that I still notice it today. I didn't buy it when the Windows version was released on Steam (to play it with Proton). And I won't buy it now either. Even though one copy more or less doesn't make a difference. For me it's a matter of principle.
I would say not buying a game because it used to be an Epic exclusive is a bit detrimental for stopping Epic exclusives.
Think about it.. What's the ideal scenario for stopping Epic exclusives? Is it no one buying the game? No, then the publisher would just assume that no one liked it. The ideal scenario is no one buying the game on Epic Store and then everyone buying the game once it comes out on other stores like Steam, GOG, itch. That's the biggest middlefinger to Epic exclusives I can think of.
I understand you want to "punish" the publisher for going Epic exclusive, but that's not how it work. Publisher is like a dog. It doesn't understand punishment. It only understands positive reinforcement.

Midnight Protocol, a tactical narrative-driven hacking RPG releases Summer 2021

I tried the demo a while ago and it's surprisingly good. It feels bit like hacking minigame in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (if I remember correctly). Already in the demo there's few hacking tools that vary the gameplay little bit, so there's room for trying out different tactics.
What have you been playing recently, come tell your thoughts

I can relate to that. I more less gave up on Hollow Knight because of that. Valheim at least has the option of improving your gear in order to prepare for the boss fights. Few potions don't hurt either, extra health and stamina helps a lot (though you might be able to tactically retreat to recover some, just bit more slowly).
Also with bit of creativity, you can even the odds even more. Failing is bit punishing though, especially if you haven't set your spawn point close by. I have done back to the stone age start in order to retrieve my stuff from the plains. Took few tries, but managed to beat the annoying enemies that killed me several times just with my fists...
Back to the actual topic, I have pretty much been playing Valheim lately. I'm about to start melting silver and will hopefully find the fourth boss. It's tempting though to build a underground base to the mountain as I found suitable foundation that's begging to be built on...

Quoting: SiinamonI got through the first boss and gave up on Valheim. I love the exploration and building, but am not keen on games that lock crafting/building behind defeating bosses. It's not a bad game, just not really for me, I think. :)

Demo was good fun. Not that many powers are available in demo, but levels mostly had fresh ideas that vary the gameplay a bit. There's also bit of puzzle aspect to it. Sometimes you have to figure out how to cause enough havoc, sometimes you have find stuff or people from the level.
