Humble Choice has The Ascent, Hot Wheels Unleashed, A Plague Tale: Innocence
3 August 2022 at 8:41 pm UTC

I picked it up, it's nice to see a good bundle again.

I look forward to trying out Hot Wheels: Unleashed and The Ascent.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a game I've already had on EGS (it was a freebie), but a Steam copy is always preferred. I'll have to complete this one for sure.

Other games seem quite interesting as well. Well, maybe not Gas Station Simulator - but the rest of the bundle is pretty solid.

It's well worth the 10€. I really wanted to have Hot Wheels: Unleased, and here I not only get it, but I also get some other good games along with it.

I had an inkling that Hot Wheels would appear one day in a humble bundle - it's good that I haven't pulled the trigger on it in the past.

Linux user share on Steam continues rising — highest for years again

Damm, that's really great news.

It's amazing that the trend is continuing.

I'm curious how long would it take for us to reach 5% market share on Steam If the growth was to continue at the current pace.

I even got the Steam hardware survey yesterday, so I will be included in the next round of statistics. I'm using Nobara, so I'll be in the 'Other' Linux distro category.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyThere's something I'm not understanding. Apparently,
Quoteyour character automatically walks around and engages in battle with various creatures.
So like, what do you do?
It's hard to describe this game, there's a demo of the game on Steam that you can check out.

I couldn't install it directly from Steam though, so If you want to do it, go to SteamDB and click install - it'll open the installation process in Steam.

Alternatively, there's also an alpha version of the game available on Itch.io, but I've only checked out the Steam demo, so no idea how the alpha compares to that.

Prepare your wallet for the next confirmed Steam Sale dates

I'm hoping Mass Effect: Legendary Edition goes on sale soon.

I have about just enough money in my Steam wallet to buy it, provided the discount it receives is no smaller than the previous one (so 34% off would suffice).

So.....please don't post that stuff in the open, at least have the courtesy to keep it between yourselves. I like the site, and really don't want it involved in having to moderate more because some lawyer thinks it's a good idea to hit up the place (which is permissible under the laws of where GOL is located).

Really, please, don't ruin things for the rest of us.
I redacted my post.

I kept the archive.org link, because afaik this site operates in a legal manner.

GTA III and Vice City get reverse engineered with a new game engine

Quoting: yar4eAwesome job! Completed re3 without any issues! But reVC constantly crashing in "riot" mission, so it's not playable on Linux for now.. My system is fully updated Linux Mint 20.1.
That's odd, I've completed this mission in reVC without any isssues.

Do you by any chance have the framerate limiter off? It might be some kind of a bug with unlocked FPS.

I play with frame sync and frame limiter off and I use libstrangle to limit the FPS to 75 fps. The game works then, however each time I launch it, I have to first turn on the frame limiter, load the game, and then turn the frame limiter off; if I don't do that I get broken car handling.

Thanks, cloning works correctly with the mirrors you posted (seems like there was something broken about the one I had found before).

Btw, if anyone needs the build instructions for Linux, they're available on the web archive.

NVIDIA has a small update to their Vulkan Beta Driver, plus naming changes to mainline
17 December 2020 at 12:40 pm UTC

Quoting: BeamboomI thought this extension was more important than just preventing some crashes, but that it would improve both performance and visual glitches/errors?

Or was that another extension I am thinking of now that is missing in the Nivida drivers as well, related to the Vulkan API?
I think it's the same extension.

Cyberpunk 2077 does some stuff that breaks DX12 api, and this extension helps remedy some of the effects of that (which are performance problems and crashes).

Quoting: BeamboomC'mon Nvidia, there's only one extension we're waiting on nowadays.
That extension which fix the crashes in CP2077 does that just by accident. Maybe the extension wouldn't even help on Nvidia in the same way, the actual cause for the crashes is a bug in the game itself.
All this means, is that the extension was originally created to serve some different purpose, and wasn't created specifically with Cyberpunk 2077 in mind.

It does however fix the crashes [in Cyberpunk 2077] with AMD cards, and there's no reason to assume it wouldn't fix them on Nvidia.

Just come on, Nvidia, give us the extension already.

The crashes on Nvidia are really bothersome.
