I must admit, i haven't used VR in quite a while...does it work with flatpak steam nowadays? And do you still need to set up your own scripts to power up/down the lighthouses?
I really hope seeing more activity in SteamVR means Linux will get treated more like a frist class citizen there, too :)

I really doesn't matter what they come up with now - the trust is gone.
Who in their right mind would bet on this horse when they could come up with other bullshit at any time to fuck you over?
Then the next CEO would just have to execute the same orders from the board of greedy "investors"

Quoting: dwmI think the CEO has to be fired.

The damage is done, so coming forth with a sensible policy is a bit too late...
They've clearly shown that greed bests common sense and trustworthyness in the board and the CEO, so it would still be a risky move to choose unity for new projects. Who knows what other bullcrap unity comes up with during the years of development you need till the game is released?

Nobody's buying this 'excuse'.
The whole fiasco is just a prime example of what happens after a company goes public: Greedy investors buy their way into the board and dictate bullshit policies that promise short term profits with no regards to what those policies will do to the company in the long run.
So in short: everything gets worse for everyone (well, everyone but the parasites i guess)

Back then i boycotted them because it was just anti consumer DRM-Bullshit.
Of course, nowadays it's a bit of a shame that my account is only 14 years old now ^^
On the other hand, that's an interesting testament that it took them 6 years to go from DRM to a platform that added some value for the customer.

This still requires the godforsaken origin app, doesn't it?
Would really like to get it, but not with that abomination attached to it...

Kinda sad, but at least the end is as exemplary as what came before. If every company would release this way and be open, the gaming world would be a much better place ^^
