Crusader Kings III is about to get a lot of extra exciting content

Seems more expensive than the last Chapter, but might also offer a bit more content.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI'm generally fine with the Paradox approach to DLCs, but I could buy a major game for that money, or more likely three indies.
I guess I'm okay paying €30 to €50 a year, then play a single 100h campaign to sample the changes and additions. But if I were starting new and faced with a €200+ investment to get the full game ... I think I would pass.

Ubisoft think gamers need to get comfortable with not owning games

I *am* already very comfortable with not owning any Ubisoft games. Guess nothing changes for me, then ...

Pillars of Eternity from Obsidian has a new patch coming nearly 9 years after release

Quoting: JarmerAnd I never did play Pillars 1, I just can't stand real time combat, so without the turn based mode implemented in PoE2, I just can't do it.
While the turn based mode in PoE 2 was a more than welcome addition, I did play and complete the first one just fine (sans the add-ons). So you might want to give it a try, if you haven't already.

I think one thing that made it bearable for me was that it did not feel as if there were lots of trash mobs. And the game was actually easy enough to not require lighting-quick reflexes or excessive micro-management.

QuoteWorkaround game bug in Pioneers of Pagonia causing GPU hangs on RADV.
That was quick. I usually don't waste my time with early access titles, but oh the memories playing the original Settlers on the Amiga, in split-screen two-player mode no less!

So good to know Pioneers will be playable, should I give in to temptation ...

Western adventure in the alternate 19th century, Rosewater has a fresh trailer

Reminds me I never completed Lamplight City, though mostly because I let it sit for so long, I no longer remember what it is I am supposed to be doing next. Shardlight was pretty decent, too. So I guess I'll give Rosewater a try once it is out, even though the Wild West theme doesn't have me thrilled exactly.

Huge update to Baldur's Gate 3 adds an Epilogue, new game modes and willy physics

That came just in time, as I am nearing the end of my first (and, for the near future, only) playthrough. Currently, GOG Galaxy has the clock at 211h, while the game itself says 175h, so seems I did reload quite a bit.

It starts feeling a bit tedious, but I've only a few companion quests to clear, so I guess I shall persevere. Given I never finished the originals way back when, that's really a testament to how much I like this installment.

Quoting: RaabenWhile I don't exactly regret the time I had with BG3 at launch, this really does remind me why I wait for the Final GOTY Enhanced edition of games.
That's the thought I had when Larian announced the (regular) boxed edition, which at €99 + shipping is incredible value considering that the digital game alone goes for €69.

The Invincible gets updated to fix it with the latest Steam Deck updates

I played it on desktop using Wine + vkd3d-proton and it was a smooth ride.

For me it did not quite reach the quality of Firewatch, but after a slow start it did manage to pull me into the story. There weren't that many choices to make, but there are one or two in particular early on that affect the ending. Since the game is rather linear, there's probably not much value in replaying the bigger part of it just to see the outcome styled as the "true" ending. Despite choosing poorly, I did get an ending that is still considered "good", so I guess I can't complain.

Neat. I was always on the fence about getting one, and now I'm even more so!

Humble has a bundle full of awesome games IGN gave 9s and 10s

Disco Elysium and Paradise Killer are two of my most favorite games. Spiritfarer was not my thing, though it took me some time to figure this out, so I guess that speaks for its qualities.

But The Forgotten City!? Don't know why that gets so much praise. Perhaps the concept isn't bad, but I found the writing at the start of the game so cringeworthy that I did not persist long enough to see if it would get any better.

The rest I have not played.

Slay the Princess, or don't - you probably shouldn't but you can play it now

I had this wishlisted for a while, but I'm not fully convinced that I'd actually enjoy it. For one, the goal of the game, if the title can be trusted, doesn't sound all that desirable to me. But maybe the title doesn't tell the whole story ...

More importantly, having too many choices, especially if their outcome is hard to predict, can be quite paralyzing. Yeah, it's only a game; yeah, you could restart or reload any time; but it's just not my idea of fun.

I guess it'd be okay if I could blindly take the choices behind which I'd stand IRL, but I assume those would not lead to a "good" outcome. So I feel that I could only lose (either by abandoning my moral compass or by running into a "game over"). So, sadly, the only way to win is not to play.

Still, conceptually and artistically it's quite an interesting game!
