Just picked up DSIII and ran into that bug so that's great news for me :)

And what about steamplay reviews made by Liam.

He did play some Doom on Twitch. I wouldn't mind reading written reviews on Proton whitelisted games though.

Okay, so I installed the update now and my DSII prefix and savefile is still intact, just like it's been during previous updates. Never hurts to have a backup though.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPI've just had an update of Steam Play and it wiped my Dark Souls III save...

Thanks for the heads up. I've not updated yet but thanks to your post I have now backed up my ~120h DSII:SotFS save-file just in case.

Just got DSIII from Humble yesterday. Can't wait to dive into it! Love these games. Completed the first game two and a half times and I'm almost there in the second game as well. Doing some achievement hunting and going for 100% :D

So maybe they want to start pushing code upstream that benefits Azure or any of their services but are subject to patents? Either way, this is probably good news, but maybe they know something I don't.

QuoteHold the phone, this isn't gaming news?

It might impact the system we choose for gaming so it's related enough :)

QuoteFinally: What have you been playing this week? Tell us what you think about it! I’ve been playing a lot (understatement) of Rocket League, to the point that I even had a dream about it…

Still playing Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin using Proton. Works like a charm, and it's an amazing game. Steams playtime counter says 117 hours and IIRC I've not had a single crash or issue as long as I stick to x.org and not Wayland where most Vulkan applications are currently broken for me.

I plan to start Nier: Automata but I have to wait for Debian to push out Mesa 18.2 and LLVM7 because it causes GPU hangs on Mesa 18.1 and LLVM6.

Linux market share on Steam now at a 16 month high after a rounding error was fixed

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI mean, if all those ex-PUBG players just washed right back out again as they stopped playing PUBG, most of them presumably never bought another game.

Why do you think that ? What does make the PUBG players so special ? I have no idea and do not know much about PUBG. :)

To make things very clear, i am talking about their alleged characteristic of non-other-game buyers only.

PUBG was a fad which attracted a lot of people including folks that might not normally be gaming much (read: not spending much money on games).

I'm going to assume this issue affected previous months as well so relatively speaking, this bump caused by this fix doesn't come from Proton. I think it's a bit early for Proton to really make an impact on these statistics and that we might see more increases during the next few months.

Just like LiS:BtS, I wasn't sure what to think about this one at first despite my love for the first game, but after having watched a Let's Play of the entire first episode I'm totally into it. Definitely a buy once Feral has ported it.
