Oh yes, I've noticed improvements, but as with most things YMMV.
Wine 5.9 is out with major WineD3D Vulkan work

I don't know much about WineD3D, but I don't get the impression that it's at a point where we should start making comparisons like that. I have a feeling that it would be a bit like comparing apples to oranges.

Quoting: Xaero_VincentSo any examples of WineD3D Vulkan vs DXVK? Anything Vulkan work yet? I'd like to try it out.

It's another Steam Play component like Proton, but not for running the Windows version of the game. It's supposed to help out whenever there is an issue between a game and your particular distribution. Normally a native GNU/Linux game will depend on certain runtime library's provided by your distribution, but sometimes these are not compatible. To solve this, Steam Play provides the option to force the game to use runtime libraries provided by Steam instead. It's activated the same way as Proton by forcing the use of Steam Play, but instead of selecting Proton from the drop-down menu, you select "Steam Linux Runtime".
This may or may not help you out. Personally I've tried it many times and it has not helped out even a single time. Unlike Proton though, if you use the Steam Linux Runtime then your are actually running the GNU/Linux native version of the game, not the Windows version.

Quoting: NezchanQuoting: LinasQuoting: NezchanI'd rather not have to resort to Proton for a supposedly native game, but I may have no choice in the long run.Have you tried Linux Runtime as a compatibility tool that you can select the same place as Proton?
Hell, I don't even understand what that sentence means!

Did you try forcing Proton? It's native version doesn't work for me either, but the Windows-version works just fine with Proton.

Oh. DCS uh? I guess Steam is unaware that I've spent countless hours on the standalone version of that, but a few years ago I decided I've had enough and sold all my controllers and stopped playing it.
Didn't think it would work with Proton, but I see now on ProtonDB that some people have actually made it work. I'm going to go ahead and give it a try :D

QuoteNot quite perfect yet, if you speak too quickly it might not quite catch the end of what you say

After a few YouTube-tutorials and a bit of wiki-reading I have had a really great time with OpenTTD. Not as fancy graphics as 0AD, and at first a bit daunting with it's seemingly clunky user interface, but it's actually not bad once you get to know it and learn the most important hotkeys.

Quoting: AvikarrThis game is amazing! Are there more high-quality opensource games like this (not specifically RTS, any genre will do)?

Just completed both of the new parks. Those crazy BikeOut parks are really frustrating :D. Don't forget that you can hold left trigger and press the left stick to put down your re-spawn point between each obstacle. That way you don't go all the way back to the beginning when you mess up ^_^
