For GOG games I'm using my own scripts. And Wine+vkd3d-proton+esync.

Nice and surprising, but positive trend for Sony.

Quoting: PlintslîchoAlso, Plasma 6 takes up quite some noticeable amount of RAM at times, even though the system is idling.

If you aren't using KDE PIM (Kmail and etc.) try to disable Akonadi server - it eats a ton of RAM for something you might not use.

Meanwhile in Debian

*crickets chirping*.

More seriously, I wish Neon would provide repositories for Debian unstable and testing.

Wine Direct3D 12 to Vulkan translation library vkd3d v1.11 released

I think the key difference is that vkd3d-proton uses Vulkan fully without any limitations which allows it to target good performance. vkd3d uses Vulkan that's crippled by being limited to features that work on macOS's Metal over MoltenVK. Unless I misunderstood the idea.

That means that vkd3d will never be as efficient as vkd3d-proton. So for Linux users it's not even a question what to use.

Sounds suspicious. Did they start using Pipewire + XDG portal or they are still stuck with kmsgrab?

Quoting: CalinouI remember having to run games through Zink just to be able to do that on AMD…

I thought with AMD you could already do it for radeonsi:

AMD_TEX_ANISO=16

For Vulkan it's:

RADV_TEX_ANISO=16

Example:

AMD_TEX_ANISO=16 glxgears
radeonsi: Forcing anisotropy filter to 16x

Quoting: hardpenguinEh I am not in a rush, my Debian Sid can stay on version 5 for as long as maintainers want to :P

I'd rather that to happen soon. Plasma 5 isn't working well with Wine Wayland and I don't want to spend time debugging it if it's fixed in Plasma 6.
