Were are people prepared to know all those things ?
There's schools that teach those things ?

May be here?

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition Released For SteamOS Linux
13 June 2014 at 1:32 am UTC

Quoting: GNUzelTurns out the problem was that I had UberSampling, unbeknownst to me, enabled, causing my frame drops.

That's a common mistake. Actually if you'd play it in Wine, you'd see that the "ubersampling" setting is highlighted in red (to indicate that it's extremely demanding). It's recommended never to use it because it always kills performance (on Windows the same way) since it's a very wasteful brute force antialiasing. Some even argued that such misleading setting should never had been included in the first place.

May be in the Linux version that option wasn't highlighted, and many simply don't pay attention.

@ziabice: I got the same response. What it means that nothing official is announced and you shouldn't make preorders based on speculations. However there is still hope. Note the language "as for now", which can hint to the fact that something is going on. But they won't get my money until the official confirmation.

Still, it would be interesting to find out what that Steam ad was about. Someone in Valve jumped the gun? Or it was a bad joke?

Quoting: BerillionsThe main page of Steam's store has changed ... I hope that it was not a prank ...
It changes every 2 or 3 days, nothing to worry about ;)

I'd say the main reason for worrying is that actual preorder pages don't say anything about Linux at all.

May be some Steam users can contact Valve and ask whether the recent ad about Witcher 3 on SteamOS was legit or it was a prank?

Quoting: Stephen MurcottYes I will buy it if it comes out for Linux. Only after I finish Witcher 2 though, have not had such fun with an RPG for years. The issues on the Linux version of Witcher 2 for me were addressed really quickly and I felt like the devs at CDprojekt were really paying attention to the Linux community and willing to fix the issues as a priority. Really great to have a AAA title on my favorite OS.

Play also Witcher 1 if you didn't yet. It's also a lot of fun (it works nicely in Wine).

Quoting: ShmerlI also start wondering whether the whole thing was a prank of someone who hacked Steam's front page :) Since there was no official announcement from either Valve or CD Projket Red. And actual Steam preorder page doesn't list Linux at all.
Oddly enough, the ad isn't there anymore. I couldn't imagine someone doing it as a joke though.

Why not? Pranksters can come up with weird ideas. Valve would have commented on such prank however. The whole thing looks somewhat weird.

Quoting: ubuntumanThey need to do 2 things for me to want to buy it:
1. Make a real Linux port
2. Make Triss more attractive :D

The game also has Yennefer.
