GOL Cast: Building My Empire In Civilization V

Quoting: xuwangThanks for the review! Glad to hear it is working well. Did you report the minor graphical glitches? Even though minor, they seemed very interested in fixing any bugs.
I'll try to replicate the bug while I play more of Civ 5 this week. If I can find a way to make it happen repeatedly and nobody else reports it I will open a ticket for it on Aspyr's website.

Quoting: scaineLooks like there's a film (1920) by the same name. Any idea if there's a relation?
I doubt it. We are talking about indie developers here and the dev hasn't mentioned anything about related films on Twitter. My guess is that it's just coincidence.

Quoting: NoXPhasmaThe max slots count is 16 per server. The 2 free slots are for spectating only.
Yeah, I figured that out quite soon. I was spamming the button just to make sure I get into the game when there is a slot available.

Quoting: abelthorneWhat makes you think it's a native client? the "launch/2/executable" line? Can't it be the Wine wrapper?
Icculus wouldn't be involved if it was a Wine wrapper. AFAIK he has never been involved with non-native ports.
AFAIK he has never been involved in anything good. Always shipping unfinished crap that never gets fixed. He starts to work on a million projects at the same time and ends up with a million broken ports.
Apart from Killing Floor his ports have worked just fine for me. And Killing Floor was playable too, it just had these weird graphical glitches.

GOL Cast: Being Part of the Bug Community in Hive
3 June 2014 at 6:07 am UTC

Quoting: GuestCurrently on sale for 3€ on the Humble store. I bought it, works fine on Arch Linux 64 bit / Xfce / alsa / nvidia. Not really interested by the game though, I prefer simpler games, but who knows I might change my mind one day.

Something the article does not mention is there is an online play mode.
Thanks for reminding me about the Humble version. I completely forgot it and believed it was a Steam-only release. Added the link for it in the article.

I mentioned the online support on the video. I usually offer only the most important aspects of the game in the article and the video has all the details.

Major Trine Update Should Be Released In The Next Few Months

Quoting: pbI have both Trine and Trine 2, but I haven't played either of them so far - should I play them in chronological order (i.e. keep waiting for #1 to get to Steam) or it doesn't matter?
I've played a bit of Trine and 6 hours of Trine 2 and I think you can play Trine 2 just nicely without touching Trine. Of course playing Trine first helps you understand some things like what the Trine actually is and stuff like that, but Trine 2 is enjoyable on its own too.
