Quoting: HomepcgamerI do have a big soft spot for Don't Starve, especially as we played Don't Starve: Together for GamingOnLinux 6th birthday (see this picture).

Reminder... You have to plug in your laptop... the battery is dying! hehe :D

That's actually for my mouse ;)

That reminds me, would it be worth it to set up a gaming hardware page on the Wiki? Something to easily see and submit whether various gaming mice, keyboards, wheels, controllers, etc. work properly in Linux?

Banished Linux port is pretty much complete, OpenGL performing well

Quoting: soulsource[...]I'm curious: Why would using ALSA directly cause such issues?
Because most distributions these days use PulseAudio and accessing ALSA directly can cause... issues. If he/she means using the ALSA API instead, then PulseAudio should intercept that just fine.

QuoteI had some crazy bugs and mistakes that were only revealed by getting it running on three different platforms.
And right there's a very important benefit to cross-platform development, especially when doing it from the beginning!

$() is bash specific I think and there is absolutely nothing wrong with ``

btw. do you use
#!/bin/bash
or
#!/usr/bin/env bash

Very true. I prefer to just require bash instead of targeting sh in general - less surprises down the line in case I forget some incompatibility issue.

I generally use /bin/bash. No real reason other than I've never had issues with it.

My favourite has been the following, for a number of years:
DIR="$(dirname "$(readlink -f "$0")")"
Same thing really, I just like the non-piped approach.

To get the "window spread" in XFCE4, install skippy-xd ;)
I have it mapped to one of the twelve buttons on my wonderfully supported Roccat Nyth - highly recommended (desktop-switching, window moving, navigation buttons and media control on the rest, such a wonderful mouse).

And the bloody buggers don't even ship to Switzerland. Bums!
Nor Greece. Does anyone know whether this is a suitable replacement? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-DM351X2-Monitor-Adjustability-Warranty/dp/B00HYWLT8E

Would you mind adding a closeup picture of the clamp, to get an idea of how it if attached, please?
I am now seriously considering buying one :)

Yeah I can try and get a good picture of it.

Thank you very much. This is what I have been unhappy with in the other stands I have seen. This one looks quite sturdy, but I can't really see it in the first picture, while in the second one, the arm is right in front of it :-/
If you could just move the arm to the left and take the second picture again, it would be great :)
The Amazon page has some pretty detailed pictures of the clamp, if that helps.

Team17 and Linux are a great pairing! Many Amiga users switched to Linux after the fall of House Commodore (myself included), so with a few more titles, we might again see some of that beautiful, classic love that can only happen between a platform and a games company ;)
