Quoting: mylkai hope they use vulkan

Why?

because performance is much better with vulkan, if you do it right?! especially on linux with weaker hardware
also it should be easier to port the game to other platforms with vulkan... switch, android, stadia

Speculation: porting studio Feral Interactive could be in some trouble (updated: they're fine)

Quoting: subProton/Steamplay. *Hooray* \o/

It's not like that at least some people assumed this will affect Feral.
Going for Switch is a good business decision.
Hopefully, it's not too late for them.

I feel for the employees and the uncomfortable time they're going through. :/

they have to choose games more carefully
i am pretty sure they wouldnt have made a linux port of life is strange 2, if they have known about proton

i guess the cash cows are online games like they do with total war and warhammer and games with really good graphics like romb raider

at least the very skilled vulkan and linux game developers have a new job in no time

epic should throw some money on feral for linux client and fortnite and rocket leauge linux versions

Metro Exodus is now live on Steam and Deep Silver say it's coming to Linux

Quoting: catbox_fuguemetro is on my ignore list because they pulled the bait and switch Epic exclusive.
let them do what they want, but i wont ever buy their stuff.

depends on how good the port is
if it is as bad as 1+2 i also wont buy it
if it is feral quality and they sell the GOTY for 20 ill buy it

why would anyone stream this?
these games dont need much disc space or high end pc

heist and dig have less than 200MB
if you stream it you have this amount within seconds

Quoting: TheRiddickDoes this game have native Vulkan option?

its on stadia.i dont know how different the stadia OS is to an desktop distro, but kernel, vulkan and maybe mesa (or AMD delivers their own stadia driver) should be the same
