because performance is much better with vulkan, if you do it right?! especially on linux with weaker hardware
also it should be easier to port the game to other platforms with vulkan... switch, android, stadia

i am pretty sure they wouldnt have made a linux port of life is strange 2, if they have known about proton
i guess the cash cows are online games like they do with total war and warhammer and games with really good graphics like romb raider
at least the very skilled vulkan and linux game developers have a new job in no time
epic should throw some money on feral for linux client and fortnite and rocket leauge linux versions

these games dont need much disc space or high end pc
heist and dig have less than 200MB

its on stadia.i dont know how different the stadia OS is to an desktop distro, but kernel, vulkan and maybe mesa (or AMD delivers their own stadia driver) should be the same
