Surprise - Supraland for Linux is now available on GOG
16 July 2019 at 1:09 am UTC

Quoting: ShmerlJust tested the game. It's using Vulkan. Looks like it became the default target for recent Unreal Engine versions, which is good!

Performance though is pretty bad, due to Unreal Engine not using Vulkan effectively and frametimes being completely messed up.

disable VSYNC and use the FPS limiter (try 60)

Unreal Engine 4.21 Released, Linux Now Defaults To Vulkan

maybe some developers dont even know which API they using. they just compile it for linux and since its default VULKAN....

after the linux community biching around because of gog, i never had thought they would publish it on gog

i dont get it. steam is just a click for the download.
on gog you have to download the game... each and every part.
than you have to install it manually
and patches wont come automatically

as long as gog dont give a peep about linux, i wont buy a game there

i know they are DRM free, but they screwed linux with witcher 3 and they wont give us a linux client. so i dont give them my money
for me linux support is more important, than DRM free games

Seems that the Linux version of Supraland will not be heading to GOG (updated)

if it is DRM free on steam, so just buy it on steam. people need to stop making everything so complicated

i tried the demo and i really liked the game, but i have too much to play and it is another up to 20h game i wanna play
https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=62224
i also had low FPS with vsync, without vsync it was very smooth

rage 2 had a lot of borked at the beginning, but after a few hours valve fixed it and now it would be platinum

layers of fear 2 has silver, but the only thing you need to do is "-onethread" in launch options and videos dont work
"Wrong" being simply your opinion, I chose to use Platinum as the safest possible bet for statistical purposes only.

Oh, "and videos dont work" - yeah, that's not exactly the experience people are after is it. If something doesn't work, it's another nail in the coffin for people sticking around. Think it through a little.

the video thing may suck. even if there arent a lot of videos, so you have to watch a few minutes on youtube... i give you that, but

rage 2 will never be mentioned by you, because it has to many borked at the beginning

you will never mention yakuza0 because this game wont work with a path which contains an "."

MGS5 never gets platinum, because you need a controller connected, or else the cam keeps spinning (i played it 80 hours and had no single issue)

some games just need some launch options and will never get platinum
some games have negative reviews because they use weird hardware, or old drivers

i think "just platinum" isnt fair. it doesnt represent the power of proton and the hard work valve has done, because of minor issues everybody could solve
i would at least go with gold. i bought a lot of gold rated games and they all worked

Valve release an official statement about the future of Linux support, they "remain committed" to Linux gaming
27 June 2019 at 12:26 am UTC

was there ever someone who said valve stops linux support because of ubuntu?
a few month afer investing a lot of money in proton, wine, dxvk, vulkan, mesa, etc

actually i hope valve releases its own stadia in the near future. also with linux and vulkan
not to replace "offline gaming", but to get steam on every TV, without a NOISY box beside it and for games you just wanna play now and then, but you dont have the space for them.... like xcom, TF2, some warhammer games, etc

Epic's Tim Sweeney thinks Wine "is the one hope for breaking the cycle", Easy Anti-Cheat continuing Linux support

QuoteI’d like to challenge critics to state what moral principle you feel is at stake. If it’s okay for one company to avoid the 30% Valve tax by selling exclusively through their own store, why is it wrong for multiple companies to work together to achieve the same goals?

besides linux support?
cloud save? forum? reviews? epic didnt even have a stupid shopping cart and banned users because they bought 5 games

if your client sucks and has absolutely no features, of course you can lower your cut
its like buying a car without any extras...... of course its cheaper

sometimes i wonder how sweeney became a millionaire.

Canonical are now saying Ubuntu's 32bit is not being entirely dropped, 32bit libraries will be "frozen"

Quoting: NoxesWell, that could've been handled better. Wonder how much marketshare they lost over past day alone over this.

do you think people really panicked and switched their distrobution because of a news within one day?

even if they have 19.04, they have support until 2020. I would not have done anything until december

and now it seems like i dont have to do anything at all

Valve looking to drop support for Ubuntu 19.10 and up due to Canonical's 32bit decision (updated)

Quoting: deathxxxIf Valve move to FreeBSD, that will be great! Because BSD is more faster than Linux. Only AMD cards will have no binary drivers, so will force to use Mesa. For Nvidia is OK. PlayStation uses BSD already and we saw how it run.

macos is also based on BSD and we know how that goes

I can not believe they do that. that is a suicide mission for ubuntu and ubuntu based distros and i hope they overthink this
