was kinda clear since hitman 2 did not get a linux version
you need people like 4A games. they made a linux version of metro 3, although it works pretty good with proton
sadly AAA games (onyl if they use directx) need a GOOD native port the most for best performance.
or mimimi games with desperados
if steam deck makes devs using VULKAN more often, then we wont see any disadvantage with proton anymore. that would be a big win against MS.

native, or proton does not matter if its platinum. it has the same mechanics so if you can play hitman, you should also be able to play 2+3
hitman 2 runs better with proton, than hitman 1 native. so as i said. i would play hitman 1 within hitman 2. it has more features

Quoting: EikeQuoting: mylkait is more surprising, that just hitman is on the list. 2+3 are basically the same game and but i wouldnt even play hitman 1. i would play it within hitman 2 with the new mechanics
Hitman is natively on Linux:

of course they want to play it on the deck

Quoting: melkemindKind of funny to see Rocket League on there when it's no longer even available for sale. Valve is definitely "being the bigger man" in their conflict with Epic.

Heroic Games Launcher for Epic Games appears popular with over 100K downloads

i dont see how it can be any better. heroic can download update and run games
i really dont need more. when i browse the shop i do it in a browser because it is faster and has tabs
even cloud save works with heroic.
in general you are right, but i was talking about epic

Quoting: TheSHEEEPQuoting: mylkawhy should i use a closed source client, when there are 2 open source alternatives?Because the closed-source store is better?
I'm not saying that it is in this case (last I checked, original EGS was not very good), but that would definitely be a very valid reason.
Using open source just because it is open source is pointless - it actually has be good software in order to improve your experience.

"Still a shame that Epic don't support their store directly"
actually i would still use heroic, or rare even if epic had a native linux client
why should i use a closed source client, when there are 2 open source alternatives?
