Talking point: what have you been playing recently?

I've almost finished a point and click adventure called Lost Horizons (via Proton). It's an Indiana Jones kind of thing - stop the Nazis from unlocking the power of an ancient Tibetan artifact. It's well produced and a decent plot, but I am spending a fair bit of time trying to click every inventory item on every other thing to progress the story. Typical of this genre I suppose.

Haven't had much time for games lately, but am about 2/3 through XCOM: Chimera Squad. It's pretty fun, simpler than XCOM 2 and hence easier to just dip into and do one mission in an evening. I also like the fact that the soldiers are unique and have their own banter. Reminds me of Jagged Alliance 2 in that way.

I've also played a few hours of Metro Exodus after picking it up in last month's Humble Choice. Enjoying it so far.

Hopefully this means Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition will be playable soon. Although I only have a 2060 so maybe it's irrelevant.

I got up to the last or second to last mission in the original, must go and finish it off sometime. It's an excellent game.

Quoting: DaiKaiser93Does anyone know how to get the original game to recognize a Xbox One Controller?
I haven't played it in a while, but I played almost all of it on a XBone controller via the Steam Link. I don't recall having to do anything special to get that working.

Mostly Proton games for me. I got back into Hitman 2. I'm up to Whittleton Creek, probably have another couple of playthroughs to do there before I reach my goal of mastery level 15.

I've also kicked off a new playthrough of Divinity: Original Sin 2, this time with Beast as my main. I'm almost done with Fort Joy.

And just for something different I picked up Frostpunk in the Lunar New Year sale yesterday. Only played for a couple of hours though.

As far as native games go I also played a bit of Superhot which I got in a bundle some time ago but hadn't played yet. It's pretty fun for an hour or so - very interesting mechanic (time is frozen unless you are moving), but quite frustrating when you can't figure out how to beat a level.

I went to see what I could nominate for an award and it turns out I only played two games released this year - and one was a demo!

I ended up buying this to get Sigma Theory, Superhot and A Hat in Time. If anyone wants any of my leftovers let me know.

Doh! Sorry Liam, I forgot to go through your partner link. :(

I just finished Disco Elysium (via Proton). It's brilliant, I had a blast, and will likely replay it sometime with a different character build.

Definitely a lot of text though.

Quoting: denyasisFor some reason, I want to try zachtronics, but the hardcore reputation that seems to come with the games intimidates me a bit.
They've always looked a bit too similar to work to me. Like if I wanted to spend my evening optimizing algorithms etc I would just work longer hours in my job. So I've never actually tried them.

Actually, I've been sitting on keys for one each of Opus Magnum and MOLEK-SYNTEZ for a few months now. I doubt I'll get to them anytime soon. If anyone here would actually use one of them, reply here and I'll PM one to you.
