I've had a lot of mileage out of this game and bought a few DLC in the past to support them. My only complaint is that movement feels a little nauseous at times.
As I'd heard the Proton experience was better I switched to that recently. It isn't! Exactly the same as the Linux version for me. Great game though.

Mistlands in Valheim will have strange structures — and Hares

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the old Mistlands with cobwebs was abandoned for the new Mistlands. I believe any existing Mistlands-with-cobwebs already discovered (I have one) will remain in your saved world.
I would love BIG spiders

Quoting: syylkLightning-using spiders. Mistlands are covered in cobweb, and the last boss (Yagluth) gives you resistance to lightning, so it makes sense to have the next foes using that element.

Pigs and Lox are fairly easy but it's time consuming. Wolves were the hardest - I trapped a some in a pit I'd dug but something kept killing them. Tamed them eventually and then had to lead them right across the island to my base. I keep two inside and a load at the gates as "guard dogs".

Quoting: CanadianBlueBeer...Never did the domesticate Lox before. (or pigs. still haven't done wolves yet)...

My obligatory Valheim comment...
It's now surpassed Borderlands 2 as my second most played game. It's got a way to go to beat Mindustry but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes number one spot!
Still having a whale of a time in a newly generated world. I'm currently farming Surtlings

Just putting it out there... but you can always use "devcommands" and "debugmode" from the console to generate what you need. I gave up farming stone to build "castles" after being half way through my first one, way too tedious. I only do this in this instance though, as I generally like the grind.
I only play singleplayer and also use a few mods to vastly increase my enjoyment of the game, such as auto stacking items. There are also mods for extra creatures, for instance chickens (plus eggs)

Quoting: ArthurWhile I generally enjoy Valheim, me and some friends have had two worlds now and both times we have stopped playing after a while. I think it has something to do with the progression of certain things being too grindy and frustrating.
Both times we stopped after getting to the mountain biome and having to find silver. Finding silver is just too annoying, because it only spawns above a certain height and the terrain can't be too steep. In addition it's underground, with no visible markers to indicate where. Getting obsidian in the mountains is a fun challenge, but finding silver is really difficult because it's so rare and underground, so the terrain looks like a Swiss cheese after we've been there.
We kind of need the silver to get good enough gear for the Plains biome, so silver being such a rarity is a real problem for us. I also hope we get some more wild animals in all of the biomes, to get some more variety.

I'm over 400 hours now... just started a new world to build a new base in preparation for the Mistlands. No exploration until it's released though.
My new "castle" is on the largest island of an archipelago, my best build yet I just have the interior decor to finish now!

NVIDIA working with Valve to get Gamescope working on their drivers

Since Gnome went to V3 (long time ago) I've not used a DE, rolled my own, with Compiz as WM. Never had any problems (that I can recall anyway!). Nor any problems with games.
It's funny that I've been "so lucky". Same with using Arch, never a problem, yet some people appear to have no end of woes!

Quoting: omer666Well you are kind of lucky. Nvidia has had some massive repaint bugs on some desktops and window managers that took literally years to get fixed. This alone should have made me switch to AMD but I wanted to give Nvidia another chance, as their gaming performance is really good aside from this.

I've used Nvidia GPUs since I've been using Linux, since 2006 and never had any problems. They always just worked and it's very easy to update the drivers on Arch. I recently upgraded my GTX 970 to an AMD RX 6600 and it was incredibly painful. I even had to buy a new monitor! I wish I'd waited for an RTX 3060 at the time.
It's all working smoothly now (eventually) but I'm writing this just for balance as I see a lot of people on here moan about Nvidia drivers
Edit: I also miss GPU hardware accelerated nvenc ffmpeg encoding for my DVD rips.

Quoting: HoriQuoting: kalinAs owner of nvidia gpu for so long time I would say that it's too late for me to get excited. So far nvidia is not good deal for gaming on Linux. My plans are to buy amd gpu next year. I hope things get better for me after thatCannot agree more.
My next GPU is going to be AMD for sure.
Even if Nvidia GPUs are technically more powerful (though that's very debatable) it doesn't matter much on Linux if they drivers are garbage. On Windows it might make sense to keep using Nvidia, but on Linux I will go with AMD from now on and save myself a lot of trouble, headaches, disappointments and stuff that I paid for but cannot use or works shoddily.
They either need to be serious (right now they're anything but... and always have been) about their Linux support in their drivers, or open source them... or ideally both.
