You can now try XCOM 2 free until March 25th, also on a big sale

Oddly enough it works properly if I just play in my normal WM - Compiz. I normally switch to a non compositing WM (JWM) to play games.

If I understand right this problem is not much relevant with nvidia, I have amd.

I recently started playing XCOM 2 and the only problem I have is it just won't start in fullscreen properly. The screen is offset diagonally off the screen to the top left and I have to go into options, set it to windowed and then back to fullscreen. Anyone else seeing this?
I only have one monitor, I've tried editing the config .ini, setting launch options in Steam and from the Feral launcher, nothing makes any difference.
Enjoying the game itself, playing vanilla firstly. Is this the suggested path? I'm guessing WOTC is to be played later or should I jump straight in?

Quoting: lucinosIt was not working on me (Arch/RX 560) but this worked:
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/a-bunch-of-feral-interactive-linux-ports-may-be-broken-on-arch-and-others-heres-a-possible-workaround.10324
I wonder, it was fixed and now it is broken again? Or never fixed, because I read some posts that it was fixed.

Google announce ‘Stadia’, their new cloud gaming service built on Linux and Vulkan

It's only DRM if it's the only way to play the game. As someone pointed out earlier, going to the cinema isn't DRM, you can buy the DVD if you want to "own" it. Same thing exactly.

Not sure what to be surprised here about. Making DRM matters worse, not better is a major step in the wrong direction.

Spot on. It will be a thing going forward, like it or not.
One caveat - I will never personally use it myself! I detest Google.

Quoting: tuxdeluxSurprised to see all the complaints about privacy / drm / lack of ownership / linux support here, after seeing all the justification for compromise for other linux gaming advancements. I predict this is going to be hugely successful for some types of games, and in a few years, it will be totally accepted. The complaints remind me of the same things I heard for word processors (google docs), music cds (streaming), and dvds (netflix).
Plus, on Steam, I can see how much time people play on their games. For the vast, vast majority of games, people only have a couple hours of play-time. Why spend $60 for a game that you might not like, that you probably will play for a couple hours? And then there are one-shot games, like point and click games or visual novel games, where there is just no reason at all to own the game after completing.
I have spent many hundred of dollars on 450 games, over the last year, on steam, and a majority of those games are not ever going to get much playtime. So, Google Stadia will give access to some of the same games at a flat monthly rate? Sign me up.

I can relate to that, I loved Broforce.
I do like the look of this one though, certainly something I'm interested in.

Exclamation mark! I very nearly bought Basingstoke on Steam in the Xmas sale. I'll definitely have to give them something now.
Something for the weekend: HITMAN 2’s first mission is now free and works great in Steam Play on Linux

It would appear not actually!
Accessing Settings or Play from the splash screen crashes X and dumps me back to the tty. Fully up to date Arch.
Is there some voodoo I should be aware of? Like specific Proton version? Specific graphics settings? I can bring up the settings but "Cancel" or "Save" initiates the crash. I'll fiddle with different settings and see if that helps.
Edit: It doesn't like fullscreen! Windowed works.
