Game Saves Are Messing Up Our Drives!

Random crap strewn throughout $HOME has bugged me as long as I've used Linux!
Re 3089... I put it to the dev a while back who replied - "just rename the directory to .3089 - I programmed the game to look for and use that directory first if it exists". Why "$HOME/3089" is even a possibility is just crazy.
Something randomly creates an empty "Documents" folder which I keep deleting. I'll find the culprit one day and when I do.... :><:

Not this again please! There are other threads specifically for arguing about DRM and Steam.
Thankyou. And I have nothing to say about the subject of this particular thread as I've never seen this game in action (but will check it out if there's a Linux port) :P

Feral Interactive Wish To Know Why You Game On Linux

As has already been mentioned by others, I game on Linux because it's the OS I use ;)
As to why it's the OS I use... well, the freedom. I've always detested the MS attitude that it's users (me at the time!) are either pirates or potential pirates, as well as the ridiculous lock-in. Want to change a piece of hardware in MY computer? Not without MS's permission - wtf?!
Then there's also open source and the community. When I first started using Linux, package management just blew me away! Deal sealed :D
p.s. I forgot to add the sheer amazing configurability of YOUR own system. Posted here as I avoid Twitter etc.

I wish Liam the very best, he will certainly be missed. Hopefully we will see his return at some point.
I've always been amazed by the sheer amount of work he puts into the site and a break is deserved.

GamingOnLinux Interviews Feral Interactive About XCOM & Linux Game Development

I started with Linux in 2006 with Ubuntu and installed the x86_64 version. I have never used 32bit on the desktop! There were problems initially with things like Flash but nothing serious and certainly nothing that dictated I go 32bit. By the time I moved to Arch in 2009 the only need I could see for 32bit OS was for older hardware like my EeePC.
Anyway, back to the article... that's a fabulous attitude from the devs and I think the number of positive comments is appreciative of this. I just bought XCOM and the DLC and though this isn't the type of game I normally play I really like it and can get into it easily.
I will certainly be inclined to buy anything else they produce for Linux with such a supportive and professional attitude.

Quoting: wleoncioI'm wondering, has the majority of people really been running 64-bit Linux OSs for years, even though only a few years ago those had many compatibility issues, or has everyone but me just reinstalled their whole OS when multilib went stable?

I've always had AB disabled on GOL but like someone else mentioned, I will always block Google, FB and Twitter, no matter what. The privacy concerns are paramount.
I think you do an amazing job (and the other contributors) and am constantly amazed how you find the time! I think the donation amount is a bargain (as has also been alluded to). Keep up the good work and you never know, as Linux adoption grows (SteamOS too) hopefully so will the subscriber base :D
I did have an idea but not sure if it's feasible... I have giftable games on Steam and Humble, is there a way they could be donated to some kind of monthly raffle? The legalities of this may be problematic however.
