Again, this generic cartoonish design... Whatever it's nice they are testing it on Linux with the help of real players.
Shroud of the Avatar major update, also free to try for a few days

Thanks for your detailed answer. I've spend some time today in the free trial, and i feel the same as before : my main concern is the claustrophobic feeling. Way too much loading screens, and way too long. I had a similar feeling with Age of Conan in a way, but in SOTA it feels worst.

I hope it's not a Total War. I hope it's not of the games quoted here, as none get my interest ! Beside this, i have no idea.

I will try it again, but from my reading over the past few years, it seems they wasted potential here.
Are these correct :
- map is cut is several little pieces with loading screen and no real sense of openworld
- you have to pay for the game, and the cash shop is a huge trap with ingame house costing 200+€ up to 1000+€, rent, deed, and many other things that you "must have" to have a real MMOG experience
- whatever more than a basic gameplay experience, you have to pay with real money
- even for being part of the forum, you need to pay 5€
- Little activity around the game beside the official voices

Since my first attempt with Ubuntu and Unity, i've always switched to XFCE right after installation is done, if no option was given during the process. Now i'm on Mint XFCE since i think 3 years, and quite happy white it. I may change next time i change computer, maybe, not sure to what.

I think it's good like it is today. "Gaming on Linux" is about gam+ing, the process of being a gamer on Linux. For me, it involves obviously the games, but also the tool, the idea, the political choice of Linux vs the rest of the world and so on.
Having to go to yet another website would feel very unnecessary.

QuoteQuestion: Is there any interest in me doing a separate site to cover general Linux news?

The Great Whale Road, a story-driven turn-based tactics game with RPG elements, my review

I really like the way you write your thoughts at the beginning of articles, most of the time. Not trying to catch us, like "you will never guess what's inside this box !"...
QuoteThe game has some obvious similarities to The Banner Saga, but sadly The Great Whale Road falls short in nearly every way. It tries to do a lot, but each feature is dull, repetitive and lacking any imagination.

Never tried. I love "Steampunk" genre, but i never felt attracted by this game. I feel it has a steampunk paint, witout much depth, but i may be fully wrong about that.
Stellaris: Utopia, the first major expansion is now up for pre-order

Even now with several patch, i feel the game is quickly empty. I played a few games, only one to "completion", and then i thought "why should i play again ?". Maybe this first expansion will change my mind.
Megaquarium, a new and exciting looking simulation game about building your own aquarium

I know it's a game, but i don't like zoo or aquarium or safari or other "realistic animaly themed" park games. I'm fine killing people with heavy machine guns, put them in jail, starve them, freeze them, harvest their organs to build a cyborg miner, etc, but i'm less willing doing so with animals.
