I must say i’m quite disappointed with what they did with Valheim, since first day in Early Access : not much.

Two Point Campus from the dev of Two Point Hospital out now

Two Point Hospital was fun for a few hours, then when your hospital was starting to be alright, done. Next mission : do just did the same again with a couple more options, then the same again with a couple more options, then...

From what i see, TPCampus is about the same, with students instead of patients.

Linux user share on Steam continues rising — highest for years again
2 August 2022 at 7:03 pm UTC Likes: 1

I’m french from France, my Linux is in french, but my Steam is in English. Not sure how do i count in statistics ?

I also almost always play in english, as french translations are often poorly done. Some AI machines doing always the same obvious and terrible mistakes and nonsenses and counter-meanings... Like, Close = "fermer" when it should be "proche", or the opposite. Or, Character being "Caractère" when it should be "Personnage". Or some shortcuts like, End for Endurance, becomes "Fin". It was like this 20 years ago already... Sometimes even after several reports, have to wait several months to get a fix. Not fun.

Also, how can check how many french users are on Linux according to Steam ?

Free and open source multiplayer voxel RPG 'Veloren' version 0.13 is out
25 July 2022 at 3:54 pm UTC Likes: 4

I’m following and sometimes testing Veloren since 2018 i think, and i believe it will be greatly fun !

Later ?

Currently, it’s a bit too clunky and empty : lots of nice places to explore, but nothing much to really "do".

Still, happy to jump in, from time to time.

My account on Steam is active since 2008. It says i have 1000+ games, and 500+ wishlisted, and i just reached 15 000 items viewed in my Discovery Queue. I played i think 95% of these games at least a few hours (and of course for some, much more). Some games are just remains from bundle i never cared to try.

Please Fix The Road will have an official version just for pirates

Several international studies (Australia, France, Britain...) show pirates are also actually the best consumers, buying up to 10 times more than "average" people (non-pirates). Also, a very large portion of pirates would never buy the things they pirates, so there is absolutely not 1 pirate = 1 loss relation. Pirating is often simply "trying a demo". For games, but also and mainly for musics, and movies.

About movies, i only want to watch original versions with english subtitles if it’s english, or english or french subtitles if in another languages. And, beside a few selective offers, there is no way to do it for everything i’d like to watch. France almost always dub movies, and i hate that, so i don’t go to theaters anymore but for a few movies in special theaters or occasions, but even then, it’s french subtitles. I think books are even harder to find in "good" editions.

About games, i don’t pirate a too much (i’d say 1/20 games i play) as i’m already very well fed from my own libraries and donations for articles/video i do. Almost always to try something weird, not-refundable, or not edited anymore, or not native to check Wine behavior, etc.

Based on my budget and place i live, if i had to follow the official rules and selections, i would have a huge loss in general culture. Thanks internet for bringing me choice and raw material, feeding my brain and social share...

Anyway, that’s a first world problem.

Kaiju Wars seems like Into the Breach but it's much more and it's out now

I’m so sad i’m not the kaiju, destroying cities and eating humans. Why no games do it right, fun, and with depth ? Only some silly arcadish games let me play the kaiju, the best one being maybe Test Tube Titan.

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a sprawling FOSS apocalypse roguelike
23 April 2022 at 8:13 am UTC Likes: 3

I play it several times each year since Whale’s core version.

It’s i think the best, completiest, deepiest zombie AND survival AND crafting game.
The only part i dislike is the "roguelike" aspect.
As a game can take hours and days to play, i find it "stupid" to lose it all on a mistake.
I never like permadeath in any game (but the ones death is part of a loop, you have to die to progress).
I always prefer to select my doom, reload or not my save, accept or not my mistakes.
Not being forced to start over.

Still, i played so many hours of CDDA and i’m still a noob, discovering new things or new ways to approach the world, every time.
