and perfromance never been an issue for me on this game.. it always ran 40+ FPS.. most of the time around 60 at max settings.
the problem is with the loading times.. shader caching and what not..
i dont own windows so i dunno how its done there..but they could use GL_ARB_get_program_binary or similar.. or maybe they do

i think its the first time i like changes :)
darker backround is much more pleasing for my eyes than white, since i use black themes on my desktop as well.. and when something completly white suddenly starting to shine it just kills the eyes.
top bar needs some size adjustments though..a little too big and takes precious screen space.
great work Liam!

i hear you ..i feel quite same lately.. but if theres a game i really want to play and its known to work in wine. then i will still do it.. at least we have the option to do that.
as for prefixes..i usualy make standalone packages ... making new perfix and special wine version and putting inside the game directory.. then running a script that runs all those files.. so i dont f up with wine updates or what not

Quoting: STiAT@Xpander i'm just sick of "getting games in wine to work". I've by now 17 different wine prefixes and configurations for different games, and I just decided I won't buy games to play in wine anymore. As well as buying on windows (wine) it counts as windows for steam sales.

worked like native in wine as well tbh..
but yeah native is always better...
but this game was quite "short", i mean you start with same stuff every time and there is no multiplayer. not much variety.. but ofc one man made it and the price isnt that high so its still worth it.

had texture issues: http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/3335221527286699866/D9A7196B923F3558FEB799285461FFD633C42A3A/
-turns out it was the texture setting at high. works fine when set to medium
-mouse is little bit jerky (seems some sort of weird mouse smoothing or acceleration)
mouse smoothing option in menus doesnt help
-resolution is always set to 1280x1024 when i start up the game, have to change it every time
other than that seems to work pretty well, except few "loading" freezes

Nvidia Releases 337.12 Beta Driver, Brings Back Over-clocking
10 April 2014 at 4:36 pm UTC
ohh ok.. thanks for the information.. didnt know about this.
yeah i noticed that numbers in nvidia-settings and actual numbers were quite different.. also it still automaticaly controlled my clocks... im not going to start hacking my VGA BIOS though... i just run it at stock untill i see a game that doesnt run good enough..then i buy a new card :)
a lot simpler than messing with settings imo ...

Quoting: AnonymousQuoting: Xpanderno big changes imo ... that again proves my point that OC is quite useless for Mid/High end GPU'sUnfortunately Xpander, Kepler cards (especially 66X Kepler) have tight power limits. You might well be running into a power bottleneck. In addition, Kepler is weird in that the clocks you choose won't n't necessarily be the actual running clocks because of Boost and the aforementioned power and tdp controls. 7XX Kepler is not as bad in this respect but you do run into the same issues. Windows (e.g with MSI Afterburner) at least does have some control over the power limit, but it's usually only something small like 110% (10% above stock power). You need to mod your bios to unlock these limits, which is relatively safe these days although still an annoying restriction.
also at +150mhz core it just downclocked itself automatically, but the framerates werent that much better anyway till that point
