That mhwd fuckery...
It works flawlessly here.. kernel header package is needed for it to be able to compile the modules.
Maybe someone with manjaro can help you with that, but it seems that distro is doing something differently with the packages, which is why you are getting problems

linux515-nvidia what is that? Is that not Arch package or something? Could be problem with the distro packages you have. Probably packaged differently.
Never experienced issues with this tkg installer.
Ahh ye. it seems manjaro.. i thought they have driver packages from arch. but it seems they are doing their own thing with those...

git clone https://github.com/Frogging-Family/nvidia-all.git
cd nvidia-all
makepkg -si
and it lets you interactively pick the custom driver number when its not added into the scripts yet.
Spoiler, click me
it gave me this message
"A (correctly made?) linux-headers package can't be found.
If you're sure it's installed, blame your kernel maintainer."
after that it fails the installation
do you have any idea?
update 1: I am trying to update the kernel to a more recent release, let's see
Update 2 : I also installed the headers required with the new kernel, now the installation did not gave me any error, except it asks to resolve some "conflict" where I answered always "yes", now Linux won't arrive in the DE session... Lol.
update 3 another shot
:: nvidia-dev-dkms-tkg and linux515-nvidia are in conflict (nvidia). Remove linux515-nvidia? [y/N]
what the heck I am suppose to do, these are the kind of thing that make me think that i should be just a windows user

1) Make sure the nvidia vulkan dev/beta drivers are installed
2) Make sure you are opted into the Steam Beta client
3) Use proton-experimental
(Proton-GE im not sure about, if it includes latest DXVK master builds then it should work with it also)

Quoting: kellerkindtAny specific things to do to enable the Stutter free experience™? Can I just go with Proton Experimental or GE-Proton?No special things:

2) Make sure you are opted into the Steam Beta client
3) Use proton-experimental

Looks like 515.49.14 is not added yet, last commit is a week old.

Blame libstrangle and Shovel Knights devs also?
Still the issue is that it wasn't really advertised that its gonna get removed and is replaced with other method. It was pretty much hidden in some blogspots. Also what if you have some software that is way older. There needs to be a backwards compatibility.
Epic or EAC devs can fix this surely at some point, but what about the software that never gets maintained anymore?

Quoting: TermyI tend to agree with the criticism about unstable APIs for many cases - but in this case, i really blame Epic for using a function deprecated for almost two decades in a recent piece of software.

No its not a solution. It has its own issues with different GPU driver versions.
And also holding back updates or reverting breakages will pile up sooner or later and will be a huge maintenance burden.

Quoting: JpxeIsn't Flatpak the solution to this? Then you can just target the runtime environment and it will always stay the same as I understand it.

World details are amazing, sound is really good, animations are well done. Howerver, theres hardly any gameplay. Its more of a walking simulator with some extremely easy puzzles. You can't even fail jumps, it's mostly just press this button to do that when facing something, more like a QTE style thing than actual gameplay. I mean its good if you want to switch off your brain and just be a cat i guess.

Just base game without DLCs is ~130GB for windows builds and ~70GB for linux native builds... with DLCs the windows builds go well beyond 200GB indeed

Quoting: cbstrykerIsn't that for the native Linux version? I have the windows version installed (with DLCs) and it's sitting just shy of 250 GBs.
