Ok strange issue with that 555 driver on X11 at least. Huge amounts of frameskips (dualmonitor with different refresh rates)
But disabling the firmware fixes it (like it was with previous drivers):
im not using open kernel drivers.
reported here also: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/555-release-feedback-discussion/293652
Its a beta driver afterall

seems to work without issues so far:
I'm on X11, so i don't really have any benefit from that hyped up explicit sync support

EA SPORTS WRC is adding EA anticheat, breaking another game on Steam Deck / Linux

Its pretty much same, with tiny improvements... 9 is a bit more arcadey feeling on gravel at least... 10 is pretty decent and generations has just tiny improvements. Tarmac has been better in KT WRC games than in dirt rallies. Generations at least i feel like has the car weight is more accurate. Cars are heavy..ofc new hybrid cars are heavier, so maybe thatswhy also.

So i guess i can play this then to satisfy my WRC needs.Dumb question....... But how does WRC Generations compare to WRC 10..... besides the new hybrid cars of course..... How is the handling and stuff like that???.......

The problem with Dirt Rally games, while they are very good games, is that they don't have the new WRC1 hybrid cars with boost and aero levels of this generation. As well as missing some iconic Rally locations and don't have the official drivers and teams.
KT WRC games that were released before EA got the license are quite decent games also. WRC9, 10 and Generations namely. Though they might not be as polished as Dirt Rally games, at least with the car sounds and stuff, they do have very well made stages and have official rally ones also.

Quoting: iorekbyrnisonI'd like to make a note here:
Dirt Rally 1 and Dirt Rally 2.0 both are better games, with better physics and content, and are both available for a few bucks on any good key retailer- and both run gloriously on both desktop linux and the deck.
the first game, unlike the second, is also free of always-online nonsense, so it's my preferred version.
as always, these games from awful publishers with bad practices are rarely best in class anyways, so nothing of value was lost

And it spams my logitech G920 with the FFB commands that will get delayed. Workaround is to use ffbtools from berarama with:
Feels pretty good and yeah no bullshit kernel level anticheat on thisone :)

This really sucks. Game where you dont even compete online at the same time, but driving agains the clock, basically just leaderboards. This makes really no sense to add this crap to it. I should have known to not buy EA stuff though. I was hesitant at first cause it already had that denuvo trash, but i like rally games so i went hype mode and bought it anyway. Have 100+ hours in this game, i guess thats the end. Will try to ask for refund then i guess.
Never buy EA titles again...
updated my review of this game also.

lol at the renders.
Has there ever been a NFT/blockchain game thats gameplay first?
Epic Games store is full of this web3 asset flip trash or very bad clones of actual good games.
Don't really understand the benefits of NFT either if you can just use microtransactions (not that i like microtransactions either, but for free games its fine i guess) that are way easier for end user to use, rather than creating random wallets and going through multiple conversion things to get something etc.
This looks like its gonna fail big.

thats the sad reality about humanity.
Also cheat program developers earn loads of money doing this...
but yeah i don't understand people who buy those cheats.... This is why we can't have nice things i guess. 1 from 100 or 1000 is ruining everything for everyone else.

Quoting: ToddLThe worse part of all of this is the fact that people have to cheat on these multiplayer games in the first place. It would've been nice if everyone played these multiplayer games without using cheats/mods so that these companies don't have to resort to using crappy anticheat programs that block Steam Deck/Linux users.
