Now that's interesting, as I remember David Anfossi (boss of Eidos Montreal, developer of Deus Ex HR & MD) teasing with a picture of a Steam Machine a while ago on Twitter. I thought that maybe they were doing tests for a Linux port of HR but had abandoned it, as there had been no follow up afterwards.
After a truly long time, the level editor for the sadistic 'Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number' is ready!

PSA: after updating to the new version on Steam, my progress on the campaign was lost. Needed to revert to the previous version (through the "no editor beta" in the beta tab) to get it back. Not sure if you can do the same with GOG/Humble versions if you happen to have the same problem.

Given that the main Windows version was released with a lot of issues and some missing features (like story mode that was supposed to be released with the game), it's not really surprising that the Linux version is late too. I really wouldn't expect it quite some time after the game is actually finished on Windows.

If you have issues getting your games detected, disable AdBlock, it seems to break the process.

Is that the real official app? Google Chrome throws a warning about suspicious software when saving the deb package. Also, I don't see any news about this 0.0.5 version on Reddit (where the first version was announced) nor on the Discord web app.
I'm a bit surprised by the warning from Chrome, I never got one for deb packages before.

Is Steam giving you an annoying error message on Ubuntu 16.04? Here's a solution

Quoting: willbeonekenobiWell I just upgraded from 15.10 to 16.04, and I didn't get any errors, and as far as I remember when I did the initial install of Steam (back when the pc had 15.04) I installed it through the .deb file and not the ubuntu repo's.You mean you don't get a term window with the error message when you launch Steam, or just that you didn't have an error while upgrading (which would be normal)?

Quoting: shigutsoweird, I don't have the steam-launcher package to install from the ubuntu repository (multiverse is enabled)... am I missing something? The package in the repos is "steam". If you install the deb, it adds the Steam dedicated repo and installes the "steam-launcher" package. I'm not sure about the Ubuntu repo but I think it only installs the "steam" package.

Quoting: KeyrockI haven't gotten this error on Xubuntu 16.04.With Steam installed from the deb you get on Valve's website or from the Ubuntu repos? It only happens with the deb.

Quoting: fagnerlnSteam is a software that updates itself, I don't get why someone prefer installs from another source other than Ubuntu repository. From what I remember, the package from the Ubuntu repo was a bit old and using the old Steam pathes (i.e. ~/.steam rather than ~/.local/share/steam). It's a bit weird that the client complains about this now, have they (Valve) changed where stuff should be put again?
The Humble Devolver Bundle has a few decent Linux games for cheap

Shadow Warrior was already in a Humble Bundle long ago. Is that Special Edition the same one?
EDIT: from what I see on the Steam store page, it seems to be a different one. The SE includes new weapons, an artbook and the soundtrack, right?
