Small site update in regards to the social logins
Liam Dawe Apr 29, 2018
For all those who use the social logins: Twitter, Steam, Google.

Be aware, that if you wish to stay logged in, from now you need to go to your User Control Panel and hit the checkbox labelled "Use cookies to stay logged in with the social logins?" and hit Update next to it.

It seems our logout function was also not destroying the stay logged in cookie in certain cases (you would have still been logged out correctly, as it would have removed the database info to go along with it), this has also been fixed.

On top of that, the Twitter login was actually completely broken (likely for some time too), it's now fixed.

Why?

Due to the GDPR EU rules, we cannot just assume you are okay with a cookie to stay logged in. It's a very minor change, but it gives you a little extra control too! Since before there was simply no option, it was a cookie forced on you. It may very well have come under the EU rules for essential cookies, but I would rather we just gave you the actual option.

Just do a checkbox on the login page!

Afraid not, we can't send such HTML post data to social logins. They only accept specific instructions to get information to confirm who you are to compare with what we've stored to authenticate you.
