There are many changes in the new version of Openmohaa. You can notice them in the basic training and the UI (checkboxes, sliders).
https://github.com/openmoh/openmohaa
You can play online in Mohaa, Spearhead, and Breakthrough.
I think that most of us are waiting for a single-player mode. I use videos to show a point to which you can play these games.

Spearhead

Breakthrough - the single-player mode doesn't work, but it can display a video without a sound:

I'm a fan of Mohaa, which was ported to Linux by Icculus. Unfortunately, Ryan ported only the base version of the game, which works only on Linux 2.4 to 2.6.7. You can have a few more hours of fun if you download the unofficial mod Operation Nordwind:

I have waited 19 years to play a few minutes of Spearhead on Linux. Spearhead is the unreleased mod for Linux. Ryan Gordon probably didn't have access to the source code of Breakthrough because he never released a Linux server..
There are some minor bugs, but it can give you a few minutes of fun with Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. It's time to grab your CD or download Mohaa from GOG to see the possibilities of this new engine. That is one of the most active projects if you think about the game engine recreations.

I remember writing a patch for Cedega once the opengl extension string exceeded the hardcoded limit in the original game engine which would crash if the driver provided too much.
I so want to play these again but I remember that Breakthrough had terrible hit boxes such that you could unload a full clip into an enemies head and they'd just stagger back a bit.
Strangely, I got used to it and keep the old computer to play it.
I was a Cedega subscriber for a few months back then. I had difficulties running Mohaa. I remember that I had to change the compatibility mode to Windows 2000. I wasn't happy when I ran it after changing these settings.
I realized that I liked playing Mohaa because it was almost unrealistic to play it on Linux. I couldn't believe that Ryan Gordon ported a game published by EA. It was one of these companies that was only interested in Linux servers for their games.
I still can't run Mohaa on Wine in 2023, but I don't care about it.

Cripes, that beta was in 2004.
Thanks for the posts keeping track of the progress. I'm looking forward to playing it in SP again.
I checked it out, and I didn't hear footsteps. I'm not sure if they existed in an original game.
The main issue is that you frequently don't hear when soldiers shoot at you. You can often hear gunshots. They are often quiet if even the soldiers are near you. However, you always hear when shooting at them.
You can't fix it, but you can mitigate it by:
- changing audio settings
- using headphones instead of speakers
- using Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1
You don't hear conversations most of the time. You won't miss anything if you turn on subtitles.
Shouts of German soldiers are often hearable during the game.
Music always plays during the game, but at the end of this game, you don't hear it. You can only see credits. On the other hand, different music is present if you select credits from the menu.
In the briefings, there are two or three moments when you can't understand Colonel Hargrove. He starts to speak very fast, and it's hard to catch it.
It was a long time ago.
Medal of Honor for Linux was released a year after the Windows version. The first beta is from 2003, but the second and the third are from 2004.
